Zbrush 3.12 new features?

Hi,

just wondering if there will be any “official” video showcasing the new features on Zbrush 3.12 as we had in the 3.0 releasing.

I’d love to see the new tools announced by Pixolator in actio,n while i wait for 3.5 to be released:

Maybe someone who had succesfully downloaded it could gently make one? Or at least speak a few about them?
Specially regarding “multi textures”, “enhanced polypaint” and “better perspective”

Aneurysm warning for Mac OSX’ers:

Any word of whether PC folks will get the 3.12 update too? Sounds like a bunch of nice improvements. Not meaning to sound greedy…just heard rumors that PC’ers may also get the updates AFTER the OSX’ers are taken care of.

The new floor grid is cool. Anybody know if it’s adjustable?

Yes the grid’s adjustable (color and amount of lines), yes the windows users are getting the update soon after the mac downloads go out, no I don’t know about the multiple textures because no I don’t have it yet. I got all that stuff from those that do have it. Doesn’t matter, I’m busy as all hell, but it sounds like it’s a nice improvement from 3.1. Looking forward to it. Just imagine how slick 3.5 will be! :+1:

Really interested in that improved perspective and the grid. But specially the improved projectall :D. Anyone have any info on it? How much better is it? >,>

seems like PC users will be going from 3 directly to 3.5 at the same time as Mac users finally!

the way i think that the multiple textures work is that you are allowed to have one displacement map per subtool, and one texture per subtool. so if you have many objects, you will be able to have a designated texture per subtool. thats how you end up with multiple textures per overall tool.

so when they mention that you can have multiple textures per tool, they dont mean that you can layer multiple passes or anything. just thought i would mention this so that people don’t get confused.

what about painting across multiple textures!!! I feel this is the only thing that Zbrush is missing…and I want it soooooo bad. hmm, now I’m whining. I apologize.

windows users won’t get the new features until 3.5.

multiple textures per tool… that means one texture per subtool.

aurick already said there is going to be videos and documentation for the new features within a couple/few weeks.

I don’t seem to be able to drop a texture on my model directly from the texture palette. I just have the material showing, unless I go into projection master, but the texture still does not show up in the texture box. Do I have the viewer set wrong, how do I correct this. Worked ok in 2. :cry:

Ok, now I have my texture showing up and can clone it and export it. Unfortunately I now have a UV map that is just a bunch of squares with color instead of the map I used to generate in Z. How do I get just a plane texture not a UV map? I have looked at the documentation, but have not found anything that addresses this. :confused:
Basically I want to export this texture max to sculpties to use in SL. The texturing looks great in Z but is useless for my purposes.
