**** ZBrush 3.12 - for Mac OS X - to be released on September 29, 2008 ****

October 1st now here… and still no sign of anything being sent out to any of us… Good night and sleep well all …

Guess I’ve been out of the Zloop for a while…

I wasn’t planning on getting an Intel machine til at least Jan. --the dual G5 still does all I need it to do (except Z3 :frowning: ).

So will the free upgrade from Z2 be honored whenever I upgrade my machine?

Just think a little bit.
Take the upgrade now and save somewhere until you have your new Intel computer .
Voila

It’s really disappointing that they seem to have so little regard for their customers as to promote a hard date (as opposed to just vague release windows), even encourage pre-orders using that date as a release cut-off, then still provide neither product nor explanation as that date passes.

Let’s see.

This IS September 30th, right?

Is my calendar broken? Darn. I meant to get that thing fixed. No, it’s working! It’s kind of late in the day Sept. 30th - but it IS the 30th.

Perhaps PIXO uses a different calendar than the rest of us. I could have sworn today was the 30th. It must be! The 29th came and went, so it’s got to be.

Maybe Sept. 30th doesn’t actually start until sometime in October! Maybe they meant to say ‘When hell freezes over’.

Yeah, that’s it!

I hope it does start today, another post from an admin to update us wouldn’t hurt!

Also…First come first serve? I got Z2 on the 29th just in time, and i’m waiting on a license…now i hear that my z3.12 upgrade will go out in batches on a first come first serve basis? This is not the quality of sales i had expected from pixlogic.

I’d like to know why this cant go out as a batch upgrade to all users who requested it? surely it actually makes no difference if a zbrush 2 non intel user applies for the upgrade. if you filled in that form surely all that data can be logged into a system and used to send out copies of the upgrade to all that applied for it.

Either that or it would have been easy to setup multiple hosted links on the site to get the upgrade for a limited time (with usernames passwords whatever)

 :grimacing:

Well, in 10 minutes PST they’ll be closed for the day anyway.

I’m sure they have some good excuse. They always do. Although not necessarily a ‘good’ one - just an excuse.

They’ll probably send the links out to the ‘first’ recipients sometime AFTER closing tonight so they don’t have to pay any attention to us CUSTOMERS.

Pesky darned customers anyway.

there are many possibilities why it has not came out yet

  1. they like to tease mac users
  2. they want to release the mac version the same time they release the iphone version
  3. they would have to replace the beautiful new home page
  4. its not really ready, they just wanted to see if there was still interest
  5. September 29th = April Fools day in Pixologic land
  6. it is released, but we are not allowed to know it
  7. there is no 3.12
  8. there is no zbrush
  9. there is no pixologic
  10. what is the matrix?

There is no spoon

  1. They are big fans of Groundhog Day and want to see Sep 29th happen over and over and over.

Yep. I’m going with #5 there!

I’m almost certain that ‘Pixologic Land’ isn’t on this planet, or at least not on this plane of existence.

Oh well… I’ve been waiting over a YEAR now. What’s another year or two?

aurick has already posted why it isn’t here yet, and many have repeated him… somebody’s not reading.

24 hours from 7 pm their time yesterday = 7 pm today, their time. it’s only 5:10 their time…

i’d say the first served will see their link within 4 to 5 hours.

Yes, but ‘alas…poor aurick’ just posts what he’s told to post.

His statement “I’ll let you know tomorrow as soon as the first upgrades go out. It’s almost here!” doesn’t hold water with me.

It WAS supposed to be the 29th, and then, ‘oh no, we really meant the 30th’, oh… and… uh… 24 hours from 7 pm yesterday?? Huh?

Smoke and mirrors.

hahaha, you’re right.

though i’ve been through this with the windows version and it was pretty much exactly the same, except the rsvp e-mails didn’t have the updated date.

between my son and pixo, patience is slowly becoming my ally.

Hi everyone!

This is my first post here, in this great community.
I have another excuse  There is no year in the date of the release.
I have no more nails to gnaw…

The cake is a lie.

I understand, invertedNormal.

I’m normally a very, very patient man, but I’ve been waiting 1 YEAR and 10 days today for this!

I’ve NEVER seen any other software company treat their customers like Pixo does. It’s just pure arrogance.

They have the one and only product that does what it does, and they know it. And if you want it, you just have to put up with their arrogance and nonsense.

Besides, they’ve already got MY money, so what do they care?

They couldn’t send the links to the upgrades out to everyone ‘for technical reasons’? Nonsense.

pixo-what? I don’t see any logic.

Looks like the gang’s all here! Everyone except Pixo anyway.

And why do you suppose it is that every time they do these things it’s AFTER their normal office hours?

Every other software company I regularly deal with puts out new releases during the business day, so they can field questions and problems from customers.

Hmm. Sounds like a good way to do business, huh?

(Still nothing in my email, and it’s 5:50 p.m. PST. Big surprise.)
