**** ZBrush 3.12 - for Mac OS X - to be released on September 29, 2008 ****

i know that modo offers downloads as direct d/l or using bittorrent.
wouldn’t this have sped up [or is it speeded up?] the bandwidth issue of batch releasing?
james

Even my email a few weeks ago said the 30th, as did aurick here many times since the first of this month. So they let everyone know immediately that was the plan, even if it doesn’t make any sense…at all…to set a release date while planning the actual release the day after. However, today IZ the day, man! Not for me, since I’m probably near the back of the line, but most of you should be pretty excited!

I think the issues with the release are more likely a result of limits to the registration/email system. There’s plenty of bandwidth and hosting resources out there, but they probably only have one system for registration.

Yeah I know, I need to let out the work related stress but I just can’t help it…
Anyway if they release a demo today, and if that is a saved enabled demo I’ll be able to wait a few more days.

Work related stress is a blessing when bill related stress comes around! That’s about the only time, but hey.

I think they’ll be making it available to purchase upon sending the first batch of download links, but I don’t think there will be a demo download available for a while unfortunately. I bet that even those that purchase will have to jump in line waaaay in the back and wait for their links.

the registration is supposed to be different than 2.0 (which required sending an email, and having some real person generate a lic file).

So hopefully the only problem is setting up the activations online, and by problem, I mean none =)

well theres no time to use Zbrush anyway tonight, Aab vs Manchester United in Champions League (Go go Aab!!) - Flammen & Citronen is released on DVD (The flame and the lemon - brilliant danish movie about the danish resistance during WWII)
So lots to do anyway - who cares about ZB3 ??? :stuck_out_tongue:

Any news yet? No?!! Well, I’ll keep thinking positive, but I’ll keep my finger close to the button just in case…

I think they really meant the new release was going to be Sept 29, 2009 not 2008… Don’t worry they will have the mac users in mind maybe by zbrush 5 or 10!!!

AAAAArgh. I just moved into my new home today. Got my broadband and everything sorted out as requested so I could be ready to download zbrush as soon as I got my email.

The problem is the broadband company wrecked my email account and they reckon it will take between 3 and 5 working days to fix it.

I hope they dont expect a glowing reference from me regarding the move.

So even though I signed up for the upgrade to Z3 early I will probably be last to get it now. :-1:  Unless there is a way to get them to send the details to another email address that doesnt rely on inept broadband providers.

Cheers

That’s why you never use ISP email.
