**** ZBrush 3.12 - for Mac OS X - to be released on September 29, 2008 ****

Thats what I want to know.
They said next version was 3.5.
Then they come out with 3.2 and no info on 3.5 that aurick said 4 times they would have by now.
I swear pixologic just f*cks with people on purpose at this point in some sick twisted joke.
They can not possibly running things that badly behind the scenes.

Congrats for you mac guys.:+1:

Why so negative?
I guess you’re a PC user, just like me.
And I also guess you don’t know one-third of what 3.1 really can do.
Just like me.

3.5 will come when it’s ready.
See that you’re ready for it!

My idea.

Actually I’m a mac pro user running vista 64bit exclusivly.
I know everything I need to know with 3.1 as I’ve been a user since 1.55 when to me it was just a toy and not a serious 3d tool. 3.1 is extremly awesome but the features are not rocket science. The workflow is wierd but not overly complex. I had them all running at a high quality production level in a few months. I’m more than ready for 3.5.

The reason I am so negative is becuase they inform you of wrong dates about wrong info, consistently. Frankly I’m tired of it.

…is always awarded !

Dave, from what i remember them saying was that the plugins are separate because its easier to update them instead of having to update the whole program.

This is just an offer of “good faith” to the Mac Community who have been waiting for over a year now to be considered equal to the PC users. This is definately NOT what the guy from Pixol told me to wait for at Siggraph. And Aurick’s statement also contradicts this announcement.
It’s starting to sound like an ad from Sit-N-Sleep. We get some news that Mac users can get the new 3.5 version for free and in the background you can hear the accounting department… "You’re killing me Larry !!!

We are going to have to pay for the 3.5 upgrade now.

Excellent news! No more boot camp

OK.
Then I was wrong. Apologies. I come from Cinema 4D, and Maxon never ever gives a date. Not even “tomorrow”.
I do hope the date will be correct this time then.

Hey, congrats Mac users and congrats to Pixo for the release. I look forward to the future releases on both platforms.

Cheers!!!

Actually the way I see it Pixologic haven’t given wrong dates about anything. Aurick did say the news would be about mac-intel. If you think about it the next release is 3.5. Mac users are getting 3.12 in the meantime as a catch up as that is what has been promised for the last year. It should be seen as something separately entirely. 3.5 news is yet to come. Whenever that’ll be

Here’s to the mac community and the long-awaited version 3 on native OSX :+1:

Ok people stop panicking!

Since when did they say 3.5 is not going to happen? 3.12 is an interim release for Mac users paving the way for 3.5 on both PC and MAC. That’s still going to happen.
As I read Auricks post about 3.5 more info will be offered as and when they can offer it. As it happens that latest info was 3.12! get it? good!

As a programmer I understand totally that you cannot always predict how a product release will go. Just trust me when I say that Pixologic are dealing with the most hideous of programing tasks both in maths and programming efficiency terms, not to mention cross platform issues that will ruin the efficiency of ZBrush if done wrong.

Big pixels I’d suggest you email support directly if you’re concerned. They totally understand how frustrated Mac users have been and I guess they thought 3.12 would smooth out a few frustrations. You can’t please everyone in this game but with any luck this will mean dual releases on PC and Mac from now on.

EDIT:

Why? As the 3.5 post said in the Questions and Troubleshooting forum:
ZBrush 3.5 will be a FREE upgrade to all registered users (PC and Mac).

Yip Yip, thanks Aurick & the Pixologic crew… :sunglasses:

Can’t wait! Not only will I be going from 32 bit xp to 64 bit leopard, I’m upgrading from 2 to 8 gigs. So ZB will be able to use 4 full gigs! It’ll be like real time hd sculpting to me. I can only allow ZB to use 1.5 gigs right now, I can only imagine tripling the polycount and speed.

Congratulations to the Pixologic crew and thanx again! I’m sure she was a beast! I’ll be sure and put your hard work to good use, you can count on that.

…oh the plans I have for ZBrush…time to study…

OMG OMG OMG!!!

I take back everything I said… even that part about you guys sleeping with goats!!!

OH OH OH!!!

SHAKING MY BOOTY!!! WOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO!!!

RUNS around naked!!!

WOOOOOHOOOOO!!

OMG!!!

HUGS ALL THE MAC USERS!!!

Starts to tear up… sniff sniff…

Thanks guys… love you man.

-peace

LOL Storm!

Great news for us mac monkeys! Sadly I bought the PC version of ZB2 way back and it will cost me half the price again to switch over now that I’m on a mac pro… bootcamp for me for the time being :frowning:

Hey, Storm. It’s a bit disturbing… Ya know, hugging ppl… naked…
Sweet news. You guys waited too long :sunglasses:

Mac user are ready to kick virtual machine off their machine!

I’m in the same boat. I want to transfer ZB back to the Mac OS side. Pixologic should be getting commissions from Apple, and Microsoft. I wasn’t planing on buying an intel Mac, or Windows any time soon, but I am suddenly in serious Mac Debt with a side order of Win XP

V3? isn’t that cheating?
