Hi experts,
Loving working in Zbrush though I often find myself wondering if a roadblock is me struggling with this enigma of a program of if there is actually something short circuiting/missing. Hoping someone can help with a couple things.

I have a heck of a time getting jpg images to load into spotlight per the directions. The images frequently just wont appear in the little light box pallet after I use Texture > Import. I feel like I have to trick Zbrush into seeing them. In one instance I have to drag the image from my project folder onto my desktop for it to work. (the project folder is on my laptops internal hard drive. This is the same drive that the desktop is in.) (MacBook Pro Late 2011. 2.2GHz. 16GB Ram)

When I finally do get an image/images in the spotlight pallet and then placed into the workspace for reference, the only way I can escape from manipulating the placement or scale of the image with the little hoop thing is to go back into the texture pallet and toggle the spotlight off and then back on (or hit Shift+Z once and then twice). This took me nearly an hour to figure out as it doesn’t seem to be noted anywhere in the online documentation. The “Turn off Spotlight” gotcha is documented but after than you’re on your own to figure out how to get back to sculpting. Is this normal?

Once I’ve spent a good deal of time scaling and placing reference images in my project, they’re nowhere to be found if I save, close and then reopen the .ZPR. This ends up costing me a lot of time re importing and futzing around over and over. I’ve taken to making one single image in photoshop with 6 or so pics in it so as to speed up my set up time. I must be missing something with this one but I can’t seem to find it.
Any help/tips are much appreciated.
thanks!
