I am in the process of trying to learn the latest version of ZBrush. My only problem is I’m looking to buy a book for beginners but the only book I can find is one dealing with ZBrush 2. My question is is there a big difference between ZBrush 2 and the latest version; in terms of tools and interface or will this book be good enough for me right now?
the book by scott spencer is great!
Go here and go to the Books tab: http://www.pixologic.com/zclassroom/training/
Both of those books were written for ZBrush 3.
Go to Amazon.com and search for Zbrush.
You will be surprised on how much resources you will find.
I will recommend you the Essential Zbrush by Wayne Robson. It’s a brilliant book for any beginner and it comes with a video showing you how to build the Head and the Body from scratch, plus painting and generating maps to be applied in Max and Maya.
A must have book:

However, be aware of one thing, you should get a Wacom or any other tablet of your choice/preference. This has nothing to do with the book refereed above, however, the nature of Zbrush requires you to own one Tablet if you want to take your skills to the next level.
Never the less, don’t go out and buy one, have a feel of the program first, test it, use it extensively and see how you feel. Once you have set your mind that Zbrush indeed is what you want, go out and get one tablet.
In case if you are thinking considering Mudbox, both programs work well with tablet and it’s literaly a must have tool.
I’m certainly looking forward to this release:
ZBrush Digital Sculpting Human Anatomy
Good luck!
i don’t mean to be rude, but i’m a little shocked you recommended a Wayne Robson book. that guy shamelessly insults Pixologic, ZBrush, and its users whenever he can. Scott Spencer’s book is a much better book imho, and he doesn’t enjoy insulting us.
Really? I didn’t know that.
But anyway look at the learning perspective.
The book is quite good honestly.
