zbro_paint Material Display Issue

Hello All,

I am having an issue with the zbro_paint material, when I apply it, and fill my subtool. It applies incorrectly.

Here is a screen shot displaying the issue.

As you can see, the material preview render box correctly displays the shader on the head subtool. Yet, once applied the shader displays as a overblown white mess on the actual model.

Do I have a display setting that is incorrect? Or am I handling the material wrongly?

Any advice would be appreciated, thank you!

which version of Zbrush are you using?

Zbrush 4R5

Zbrush 4R5

which material are you trying to use?

The material is called zbro_paint

It was included in a Digital-Tutors tutorial, it is supposed to be used for poly painting.

Chances are if it’s appearing fine in the thumbnail, then it probably wont be a light or material setting (both could wash out the result, but any changes made to them appear to affect the preview as well). Check to make sure that your Render mode isn’t set to flat, as that can produce exactly what you’re seeing.

I am aware of the artist.
His blob:

Try to download the most recent version of his. I think it is on the polypaint section, page 3.
He also has some awesome other matcaps, mesh, etc to take a look at.

It works for me btw.
Try it on a new mesh to see if it is working correctly.

Probably a light or render setting blowing it out. (As Cryrid pointed out)

I have fiddled around with the render setting a little. I changed the render setting from Preview, to Fast. The viewport display of the model now looks correct.

Although but, when I go to render a BPR render I get a silhouette like appearance from the model. It turns pure black.

Hmm… messed around with the Light menu but couldn’t seem to find a correlation in he setting changes and a successful BPR render.

I will continue to play with the settings an report back if I find the issue.

Thank you all for the help!
