ZBrains

I need a human brain for a project. So far the Cerebrum.

NIce and detailed

looks like a great start

Very exellent modelling! symmetry is a killer however.

A short anecdote that comes to mind( :stuck_out_tongue: ) :
During my university course ( Biotechonology ) I used zbrush for modelling most all the organs in the human body, for presentation purposes, and educational purposes - because zbrush is soo easy to learn and allows fluid translation of conceptual understanding of form to actual-form it allows the student to re-assert his understanding and develope a complex spatial understanding of the organs, aswell as devoting them more effectively to memory( as a means to automatization). Its very similar to the process that an artist goes through, but through zbrush the process is accelerated 10-fold.
By the end of the year I had calls from lecturers to give demonstrations during lectures!( as he describes various features I model them - in the first moment resgistering the concept and actualising it in the next ) to new students of this particular course. They now have plans to purchase zbrush for the uni computers so that the students can do it them selves ( Yeh for zbrush).
One big question that came out of this is how does a virtual reproduction of the form lead to a more thouragh understanding and more importantly increase information retention??

Welldone Blaine91555,
Kircho

this is extremely cool!! im always interested in seeing the bodys internal structures modeled…in detail.

all you need to do now is write some next, next, next gen AI software to truely bring it to life!!!

Thanks all,

Kircho - Symmetry is indeed a problem. I’ve yet to detail the right hemisphere. This was put together to see where I’m headed with it. I’m new to modeling and a lot of trial and error is still involved. It took me many hours to settle on a series of actions that gave me what I wanted without going over the limit on polys. I’m so taken with ZBrush that I’ve let my newly purchased copy of LightWave sit nearly unused. I think with this model the arteries may be the biggest challenge. How to get smooth arteries between the folds is going to be a challenge.

Blaine - adding veins and arteries is a highly trivial task in zbrush.
Here is the recipe :
1/2 teaspoon Increase resolution of model to account for arteries
A pinch of Align the model so that the area you wish to work with is directly facing you
5 cups Activate Projection Master(G) settings : - deformation - Fade Off - Normalised Off
3 tablespoons Use the Simple Brush - Sphere Brush - Deco Brush - Blur Brush in combination to create the arteries in the “folds”.
or/and
Draw Zspheres adjusting there position and size to fit inside the folds - Remember that you can jump out of ‘Edit mode’ temporarily and use the 'Gizmo’s ’ ( Move, Scale, Rotate ) to adjust, most importantly, the Zsphere depth on the canvas to get a snugg fit between the folds.
30 grams Exit Projection Master.(G)
Method of Preperation
Don’t get carried away with too many veins and arteries

Looking forward to seeing your results,
Kircho

Thanks Kircho

It seems a real Brain!!!But… what is a BRAIN!?    :bulb: :o :+1: :-1: :frowning:

Jokes and psichosis a part really a good start point!:+1:

WANNA LOOK?

Hi All,
Finally did something with this. Everything modeled in ZBrush. For the mechanical part I used primitives and made use of the “crease” alot combined with the deformation tools.

haha cool you should throw that over in the halloween thread!

Thanks Aminuts - was thinking of 60’s movies.

I did a brain once,…nowhere near that good. :+1: 50.

50’s Kid, Thanks - As a learning exercise it helped me a lot. The brain is actually for another project, but I thought I’d do a Halloweenie pic with it for fun.

i just love the first one  The watter schould be green i think :stuck_out_tongue: It is alvays green in the movies :]

I started with luminous green but my wife wanted blue water and blue eyes. I thought red water and brown eyes. You see who makes the decisions around here  I better shut up or she will cut off my software budget

Pilou

Been working on the arteries. Now I need to wrap them around the brain. They are pretty accurate. I found lots of reference photos. Could be interesting.

nice zsphere-veins!
Glad to see this is developing so well.
The brain in the jar, great image, he looks very alert!
