ZBr3 to Maya with Ma file but change material?

Hiyas im just wondering is there a way to change the material of the imported ma file without having to reconnect the normal map? really struggling with this. i have a black leather material i want to connect but keep the displacement maps and normal maps but when i connect it to the shader it just seems to wipe the hi res details??
