ZBC Questions

This pertains more to ZBC than ZB, so if an admin decides to move this somewhere more appropriote, that’s fine.

First, I’m having an issue in Firefox where I cannot post images directly into my threads. All I can seem to do in Firefox is attach images as thumbnails. In IE, I get the following popup notifying me that my image will be added to my post.

Then the ATT code appears in text field.

Firefox doesn’t show this message, and doesn’t produce the ATT code. I’ve added ZBC to the exceptions list for the Firefox popup blocker, so I’m not sure what else to do. I have Adblock Plus and Flashblock add-ons installed, but I don’t see how they could be the cause. I really don’t like using IE if I can avoid it. I do my best not to suckle from the Microsoft teet.

My second question pertains to the top shelf system. I’m curious, how does it determine how to crop the images? Does someone do that manually, or is there some fancy code that does it automatically?

in FF when you upload a picture, and it shows up in your list of uploaded images

grab the [att…yadayada] and copy and paste that into your post, that will attach the image in the post.

don’t know about the second one

When I post an image here using Firefox, I get the image name surrounded by the ATT tags in the “Attach Files” box and simply copy and paste that into the body of my post. Is that the process you’re using?

Can’t help you with your top shelf question, but they do seem more artfully composed than in the bottom shelf, which always seems to give me a nice shot of my sculpt’s forehead.

hey dustin my friend hows goin!

i have the exact same problem you have. my workaround is following

I dont use the button place image in post. when you have browsed the you image in the popupwindow, you will see the ATT code. just copy that and paste it in your post and everything is fine.

in the top shelf your first image of the post will be just scaled down. for toprow, there is a thumnail needed!

greetings, gordon

I’ve also had a problem posting images in Firefox. My work around was to use Safari when posting images.

I use FireFox, and you can’t use the Insert feature. It’s due to the differences between how browsers handle Javascript.

What I do is just type the info. The stuff between the ATT commands – the name of the image – can actually be anything you want. So if the image is called MyFreakilyLongNamedImage.jpg I would just type the image link as ATT=XXXXXX]Image1[/ATT (of course, you’d need to add the outside brackets).

As for the top row vs. bottom row:

The bottom row automatically generates the thumbnails, starting with the center of the image and attempting to put as much of the image as possible into it. Thumbnail size is 100x76.

The top row is created by the Pixologic staff. We manually crop out a cool part of the image and size it to 100x76.

You can create your own thumbnails for your images. Simply insert the thumbnail that you want as the first image in the post. Or you can insert it anywhere you want in the post, but change any ATT and /ATT commands before it to ATN and /ATN so that ZBC knows not to create thumbs for them.

Thanks guys.
