ZB4 seems very slow at 13M polys

Hi! I am adding some details to a model at SDiv 7 (~3.2M polys) and ZB4 runs smooth, but when I Divide the mesh again to about 13M polys then it lags so much that I can’t work. ZB4 even crashes sometimes when I reach this polycount… are there any settings that I can change to optimize ZB4?

My Preferences says “Mem -> Maxpoly = 15.8”

With ZB.3.2 I had a default “MaxPolyPerMesh” at 18M polys and I am sure I could work with 10M+ polys without any noticable lag.

I am using a Mac, Snow Leopard, 8GB RAM.

Hope someone can help.

What are your other settings in the Preferences>Mem menu? If you’ve cranked up the Undo values that would explain why you’re having trouble.

Hi! Attached is a screenshot of the settings I use, haven’t changed anything from default. Anything that should be changed?

With your system increase the Compact Mem setting to the maximum value of 4096.

I hope you don’t mind my asking a related question. my system is a Intel Core i3 CPU 2.40 GHZ with 4GB RAM, 64 bit WIn7. What compact mem settings should I use?

I am with a similar system but with slower CPU, Q6600, and i set up my mem to 3gigs!
Its all fine here, the problem i have is that i pumped up the UNDO levels, so its getting slower at moments but i can live with it!
