i just asked the same… I´m surprised no one else noticed… :S

Are you using it under OSX?

While holding down CTRL for masking click on the strokes button just below the brush selector and you can select the different selection stroke types, lasso among them.

You can also just select the mask lasso brush with CTRL held down from the brush selector button.

I have a question in turn. Is there a way to restrict lasso selections to visible faces ? By default it selects through the entire mesh.

I’m only 5 min into ZB4 just trying to spy where all the tools are.

I’m kind of pissed. The masking system is really annoying to work with now.

I used to several tools that are hotkeyed w/ specific alphas for masking (Clay tubes for square, Dam. Std, etc…) and I could use lasso at the same time.

Now you have to go their their stupid cludgy menus every time you want to switch between pen masking, pen masking with different alphas, and lasso masking.

STUPID. SLOW.

I’m loving the mirrored masking and selection tools as well.

Is there a way to fix a lasso selection button to the shortcut bar, as it used to be? Why the H— did they remove it?

You can move the Lasso Mask brush to your custom UI. Once there you can Ctrl+click the button to select the Lasso brush without the pop-up message.

The button was removed because of the increased masking options.
