ZB 3.5R3 and RAM

i know this has been brought up before but a search in the forums seems to only address zb2 so i thought i’d rehash this for the new release:

does zb3.5R3 use more all the available RAM on vista 64 bit?

I am currently running a system with 12 GB of ram, a dual quad core 64 bit processors and zb 3.5 R3 and i still notice that ZB will error out saying i dont’ have enough ram even though i see that it is using only 3GB in task manager.

can zb 3.5 use more than just 2 or 3 GB of ram on my machine? also, what would be the best mem settings? thanks!

if you’re running Zbrush in a 64bit OS it can and will use up to 4GB of RAM.

really? huh…for some reason i thought the new release of ZB was made with new 64 bit OS’s and large amounts of memory in mind. guess i was misinformed. hopefully zb4 takes in to account that more and more people are getting workstations with 8+ GB of RAM.
