ZAppLink Views do not get saved properly

Hi,

Is saving and loading ZAppLink views still supported in R8 P2? Whenever I load my previously saved views they do not match the one I saved. The position of my object differs at least 1/8 from it’s originally saved position (in the x and y position). Additionally the scale of the object is also different (bigger).

Just to clarify, I am using the same user interface and the same tool. I basically just set up the views, save them and load them immediately and they never line up.

I did not have this problem in previous versions of ZBrush.

I can’t reproduce the behaviour you describe - it works for me as it always has done. (I’m also not aware of any changes to ZBrush that would give different behaviour in 4R8 from 4R7.)

Note that if the document size is different then you may see some variation (but that’s the same behaviour as ZAppLink has always had).

Which OS are you using? I have tested on Windows.

I am on Mac. I did not change the document size. After trying out a few things, I noticed that the views worked as expected in the default interface but not in my custom interface. So I rebuilt my custom interface from scratch and now saved and loaded views do line up again.

I’m glad you’ve solved it and thanks for letting us know. The official advice is to rebuild custom UIs for 4R8 but it’s interesting that older UIs have the affect you describe.
