ZAppLink texture issues

Hey, Ive been having this problem for a while. Basically whenever I use zapplink to texture in Photoshop then come back to zbrush and click the “pickup now” button, my textures look blurry, jaggy, muddy, you name it. It doesn’t seem to matter the resolution of my model, this one in particular is 800k, with a 4096 map.

It looks fine when it comes back in zbrush initially, but when I click pickup now it just does not look good at all as you can see below.

Any tips would be much appreciated thank you!

800k points isn’t enough to handle that texture.

if you think about it, 1million points is about a 1k texture. 4 million for a 2k. and 16million of a 4k.

if you turn on poly frame you will see what is happening on that mesh and why you’re getting the effect you are.

thanks for the reply goast. You’re absolutely right, I cranked it up to 3.6m polys and got much better results. However, the texture is still a bit blurry and anything with letters or numbers is borderline illegible.

Unfortunately with my current setup I cant subdivide past 3.6m polys or so, so I’m guessing that’s as good as I’m going to get it? But regardless thank you so much for the help!
