ZAppLink crashes photoshop

Hello,

anyone would know why zapplink crashes photoshop? I’ve installed the latest zapplink update (which fixes the error message), but now PS is crashing every time (CS5 64-bit).

I can’t seem to find anything on the subject, so apparently I’m the only one with this issue… (?)

Thanks.

This happens to me too, on two separate machines. I posted it in the Questions and trouble shooting thread for zb4r5 but no one responded…

In that thread you wrote… “I just found that if I have Zapplink Views saved and I also have the “Zapplink Views” button pressed then Zapplink works perfectly fine.

I don’t even have the “ZAppLink Views” button enabled. It’s grayed out.

Yeah that is normal by default, the “Zapplink Views” will be greyed out until you manually store a Zapplink View.

HA! That’s what it was! I had my views cleared a couple of days ago, and I had no clue that is important! Once I restored all the views AND selected the “ZAppLink Views” button, it all goes fine.

Thank you!

Thanks, that’s very useful. We’re looking into this.

About this issue, does it happen only on CS5 x65 ? Please specify and add your OS as well, thanks!

I posted it in the Questions and trouble shooting thread for zb4r5 I’ll go ahead and repost it here

Home PC
Same crash for me on my home PC as well with PS CS6 x64 (13.0.1)

Windows 7 64bit SP1
Intel Ci7 920 CPU 2.67Ghz
12 GB of ram
40GB free on HD that zb and PS are installed on
ZB4r5 (latest ZAppLink_4.0.zsc)
Photshop CS 6 64 bit (latest updates)

EDIT

I just found that if I have Zapplink Views saved and I also have the “Zapplink Views” button pressed then Zapplink works perfectly fine. But it is only when “Zapplink Views” is pressed that it works. If it is unpressed then PS crashes instantly.

WORK PC
The latest zapplink still does not work for me either, I get farther than I used to get but once the image gets into PS CS5.1 64 bit, it hangs for a minute and then crashes PS all together. I am never able to paint on a layer.

Here is a video showing this happening. I have tried restarting my computer and doing everything else I can think of to get it to work, nothing seems to work.

Intel Xenon CPU 2.67Ghz
24 GB of ram
390GB free on HD that zb and PS are installed on
ZB4r5 (latest ZAppLink_4.0.zsc)
Photshop CS 5.1 64 bit (latest updates)

Has there been any update with this?

This exact same issue is still occurring for me on two separate machines.

Thanks,

The problem is that it’s an issue that only occurs for some people. Unless it can be reproduced by the development team it makes it very difficult to track down and correct.

So, that’s it?

I too have just encountered this problem. I like that zapplink with ps ia like projection master on crack but it doesn’t mean anything if it is broken. I would really like this resolved because, even though I like the spotlight workflow, it’s not MY workflow.

Looking forward to hearing from y’all about why the crash is happening.

Cheers,

~MAH~
