ZAppLink button not showing in Doc. palette (solved)

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
Specs: Core 2 Duo, 4GB ram, NVIDIA 9800 GTX

I’ve had Zbrush R3 installed for some time now and things have been working well. Recently downloaded the latest ZAppLink from Pixologic’s website but realized that I already have a “ZAppLink3x.zsc” in my ZPlugs folder as well as a ZAppLinkData folder in my ZPlugs folder. So I deleted the new download and kept these files, hoping it would be an easy fix.

ZAppLinkData folder contains:
“origZAppLinkButton”
“ZAppLinkButton”
“ZAppLinkConfirm”
“ZAppLinkConfirm2”
“ZAppLinkDialog”
“ZAppLinkDLL.dll”
“ZAppLinkMultiDialog”
“ZAppLinkMultiProj”
“ZCharStripButton2”

ZBrush R3 is installed in it’s default directory:
C:/Program Files(x86)/Pixologic/ZBrush3.5 R3/

Yet I am not getting a button in my Document palette for ZAppLink. Wondering if I maybe need to re-install the latest version of ZAppLink via Pixologic’s website and replace it with the current documents / files in my directory?

Thanks!

ZBrush is now at version 4. If you download plugins from the Download Center make sure you get the right version.

If all you did was delete the new files then I can’t think what’s gone wrong. You might like to completely delete the ZAppLink files and try again. Be sure to install downloaded plugins in the ZStartup\ZPlugs folder - the ZData folder is for factory installations only.

There are some general instructions here which you may find useful:

Was there ever a solution for this? I also can’t find the zapplink button in my document palette, I’ve deleted the zapplink files and replaced in from my ZB4\zstartup\zplugs folder, and even downloaded the latest version from the Z4 plugins section on the site, and still can’t get it to appear.

Iridescence,

The button will show if the plugin is installed correctly. Can you show a screenshot of your ZPlugs folder? Also a screenshot of your ZData/Zplugs in case there are any conflicting files in there.

Thanks,

I also had the same problem…look at my screen shots as well on my previous posts.I’ve installed other plugins in the past as you can see on my screenshot with no problems.DISREGARD PROBLEM SOLVED

I fixed it, I had exported the zip file into the zplugs folder, but this buried the files one folder too deep so I moved them up into the Zplugs root folder and now it works
