thx

great plugin - just what i needed.
Has anybody had success using Zapplink with GIMP?
Using Zapplink on a PC (Z4) works just fine with PShop CS3.
A pleasurable workflow experience if ever there was one.
But attempting to use it on OSX 10.6.4 with Gimp2.6 (Z4, imac i7) is a most useless exercise in futility.
First, your lucky to connect to Gimp at all after selecting the Zapplink button.
Z may just crash outright, it may bring up the window to Set Target App.
50 percent of the time, Z will crash when you select Gimp as a new target app, or select OK.
If you are able to get it open in Gimp, and you edit Layer1, and then save the file, it will not change the dialog window in Zbrush. Your buttons will remain “OK Unchanged” and “Return to external editor”…as if you did not save an edited file. (this happens every time)
If you select OK Unchanged, you throw your work away.
If you select Return To External Editor, GIMP will open another image…this image is a copy of your edited file that you just saved. When this file opens, the Zapplink Dialog window changes to what it should have been the last time you saved,…with the button “Re-enter Zbrush”. You dont have to Save again, you can just select Re-Enter.
Select Re-enter and you get the Zapplink Projection window with PICKUP NOW…or you crash.
So I’m wondering if there is a different workflow for GIMP?
As Gimp works differently than Pshop, is there anything I need to do to the file in Gimp before saving?
Are you sure that you deinstall correctly the public beta of ZAppLink 4 before installing the last version?
if you need a cheap Photoshop stand-in for ZApplink on the Mac, Pixelmator works.

That helped. I had an older version.
Thanx
Ok
I asked the question because we tested Gimp here
thx for this plugin.
Yes, can’t select it, too.
Same here.
It should be installed by default. It’s in the Document menu.
i couldn’t download it !!
As Doug Jones stated in the post right before yours, it is already installed. It has been included as part of ZBrush with each release since it was first introduced. A separate download was only required until that next version of ZBrush launched.
why i can not download it?
ZAppLink is no longer available for download because it is now included in the default installation of ZBrush. All of our officially released plugins are.
