Zack Petroc Digital Life Sculpting Workshop

We thought you might like to know that Zack Petroc is soon going to be teaching what might well be the first ever Digital Life Sculpting workshop. Held at Studio Arts, this workshop is going to use exclusively ZBrush. In fact, Zack has said that until ZBrush 3, such a workshop wasn’t even possible the way that he wanted to it!

Here are a few of the works that he has posted at ZBrushCentral:

ZBrush 3 Beta Testing Gallery
Stinky Cheese Man
ZackZBanner
And the Cow Goes…

WOoOW…is that a Learning DVD ? or its just a studio learning ?

wish I could attend

For next just need to copy Zack and paste to every major city in the world. Is the session going to be recorded and made public?

Would be awesome.

Looks like a strictly in-person class.

Sadly, way outside of my price range right now. Here’s hoping it’s still offered when that changes!

edit:
Before everyone freaks out over the price, divide it down to an hourly rate. It’s actually very reasonable, all things considered.

Hey all, I’ve been taking classes at Studio Arts for about eight months now, and the place is great. Most of the classes are at night, the teachers are chill, and most of the students are working proffessionals, so great networking if you know what I mean. I just finished up Zacks first class, and it was sublime. Zack spent at least twenty minutes per class, one on one with each of us, critiquing our work.

As far as the cost goes, 1500 bucks for thirty hours of instruction ain’t bad. You spend more than that an hour going to your chiropractor, after you get all stressed out because you can’t understand why the anatomy of your model looks busted. If you are working in the industry(film mostly) or Entertainmet Partners cuts your payroll check, the classes don’t cost you a thing, or at most, you only pay a third of the cost.

Learn from the best

I say cool and about time Zack Petroc!

However I think I’ll work from here and have my wife model, I’m sure the breaks will be very interesting. I’ve been wanting to present her in a ‘Frazetta’ style for many years now.

Now for the rest of you, naked people are waiting to be exploited on your digital sculpt canvas’!!!

I do agree though, ZB3 during beta testing opened up so many possibilities…

That would be awesome to go too but sadly, the distance to too great to trek.

Ctrl-Z, thanks for bringing up cost. One of the reasons I’m doing this class through Studio Arts is because of what Eric was willing to do for potential students. A few quick points-

67% discount -for anyone who is, or has been, in any of the industry unions within the last two years

FREE -for anyone working at a company that Studio Arts has an ETP agreement with. Most of the larger Studios around town already have an agreement there. If you’re working at local company, game or film, it might be worth while to call Studio Arts to find out what it would take for your company to become an ETP partner. Its always better when you can get your boss to pay for these kinds of things.

Student discounts- Eric (owner of Studio Arts) has told me he would give a student discount to anyone taking this class. You’ll have to call him to get the specifics. 323.227.8776

Hope this helps.

One of the goals of this class is to offer students and professionals a great opportunity to develop a refined portfolio piece. There will be a lot of one on one, in depth critiquing.
