Z4r5 Local Transformation button distorts view

Hi,

Does anyone know why the Local Transformation button shifts the view when used with perspective? It’s like they both do the same thing… or is this a bug?

Thanks!

I think this is because there are two types of perspective in ZBrush.

One type adjusts the perspective on the fly so that there is no clipping of the mesh. This is the sort you get when Local is on, and I guess that the thinking is that if you are working on a small portion of the mesh (the main point of Local) then you don’t want it to disappear as you move in closer.

The other type allows you to move inside the mesh, the perspective distortion remaining constant. This is what you get with Local off, so long as Auto Adjust Distance in the Draw palette is off too - that button has exactly the same affect on perspective as Local.
