Z4R2b - "WinTab services not available" ???

It seems that Microsoft have updated windows just over the last 24hrs to make it look more professional or something. I started up ZBrush today and just getting the message “WinTab services not available” in an infinite loop so it won’t let me open any of my work!

I actually liked the new Windows profile at first but this really blows.

I’m hoping that Pixologic have anticipated this change to the OS and will issue an update because I really need to work!

Anyone else experienced this issue yet?

Actually just found it’s probably just the driver for my Intuos3 playing up. Just assumed it was Windows as the new update has just been installed. Will continue this thread if I have futher issues.

This issue has been around for a long time now. Every driver update I have ever tried eventually had this problem. Re-installing the drivers would fix it for a while, but it would be back. Wacom really should learn how to code their drivers better. I am currently on version 6.2.0w5 which I installed Feb. 2. Havn’t had the issue yet on these drivers, but I’m not going to hold my breath. Funny thing is though, that it only happens on ZBrush and nothing else. Hmm.

I just installed the same driver you mentioned, Zber2. Everything’s fine now, but for how long?

It is strange that Zbrush alone should have this issue, with the Wacom tablet being an essential tool in 3D sculpting.
