Z4r2: Standard Material Curve Adjustments Don't Appear to Work with Lightcap?

I would have preferred to post this in my existing thread on confusing Lightcap issues, but you can’t bump threads on this board, so they are effectively dead once they fall off the first page.

As the title, with Lightcap lighting setup, the curve adjustments (for instance, the diffuse curve) don’t seem to function for the standard (non-matcap) materials. At least, it makes no difference in the preview rendering, like it does with the traditional lighting setup. The curve adjustments function as normal with the traditional lights.

You can move the normal diffuse /specular, etc sliders, and have the effects update in the viewport.

Am I simply not understanding how this works? I do recall reading something about the diffuse and ambient controls being tied to Lightcap in the Lightcap documentation. It seems odd that the diffuse slider would work, but not the diffuse curve, if this is the case. How do I fine tune the material properties for multiple different materials then with Lightcap?

Thanks for any enlightenment here.

Really, all I’m looking for here is a confirmation that something is not currently working as intended (which is fine), or an indication that I’m misunderstanding the nature of Lightcap, which is what I fear, and is costing me time in trial and error as I attempt to investigate. If it is a limitation of Lightcap, that is also fine, but that doesn’t seem in keeping with the idea that Lightcap replaces the traditional lighting functions, and the latter only remain for legacy support reasons.

Any hint would be appreciated!

I am finding the Lightcaps “Use Material Curve” only works on one subtool at a time. It seems to be which ever one is first and visible in the list. I am using the Mac version.

It also seems it only works properly with one Lightcap light?
