Line function based radial symmetry.
now that there is the line function it would be awesome to be able to use it to set a temporary axis to use radial symmetry on, this would greatly improve retopology for limbs/fingers/horns etc. not to mention the sculpting benefits.

Yes, I agree. Would be very useful.
It would be great to have improvements on the renderer. More realistic shadows and lights, ability to deal with transparency on the same layer and a better GDI system. Zbrush is an excellent app for illustration, but its renders doesnt look as better as they could be. New and inovative tools for 2.5d illustration would be welcome too. It seems the goal of dev team is now just the 3d side, but is always good to keep the roots of this software.
Did not notice it in the thread but it would be handy to rotate the canvas in PaintStop, a’la photoshop CS4
This is sort of nitpicky, but it would be nice if in the Windows version there was a checkbox or something that turns covering the task bar on and off when ZBrush is maximized with the Restore button.

heres my wishlist.
In projection master the link between rgb and zdepth to be broken as its annoying to have to go into PM twice to do rgb and z adjustments.
Rotate function for simple brush and single layer brush.
The crash bug for directional brush to be fixed when in PM and the disappearing/reappearing display for this brush to be fixed.

I could use mirroring of a mask selection like smart resym.
Unless I haven’t figured this out, right now to paint a mask for something like a shirt. I have to go around the model painting it with the brush to get the mirrored result, or use the transpose tool, then clean it up.
I would like to just do a selection with the normal box or lasso, have that project through the model and mirror to the other side.

Ok, I wish that ZB 4 is nothing at all like ZB 3.5.
Words can’t express how disappointed I am in this latest release and I wish they had just held off.
Not like I don’t appreciate it, but it totally baffles me why they would release a buggy new version when they were already planning a full new point release in just a few months from now.

Brush Combo Temporary Toggles
Maybe this is already possible in Zb3.5R2?
Brushes are linked together depending on what you’re doing.
Example:
From following the advice of some great Zbrush Artist, when using Clay Tubes, you don’t want to use the Smooth brush (at least around seams), so
Clay Tubes and Flatten are toggled by the Shift key and shift + Alt + Ctrl = Activates Smooth Brush if needed.
But you don’t have to hold the shift key down.
Press it once = Clay Tubes
Press again = Flatten
Keeping activation in one area instead of pressing 1 - 9 of assigned keys.
Maybe link several brushes in a space bar ring configuration (like Maya)
Where you add whatever you want and it’s in a circle you can select from.
Would like to best render from cursor option to render canvas being viewed in the canvas window when at actual view.

And add an option to make the active subtool semi-transparent!
- layer for 2d or texturing
- matcap II that support multiple lights
- fiber brush II with more control and deformation
- render engine II and better lights
- merge of spotlight and paintstop
- better AA half for edges
- can open and save psd in paintstop, canvas rotation too
- GOZ for blender3d or silo
I know is too much but who know maybe my wish come true.

the ability to mirror a layer, with or without posable symetry activated.
the ability to create a texture with smoothed Uvs.
The ability for GoZ to import/export multiple objects/subtools at the same time. It actually dosen’t work with .maya I/O
and, finally, vector displacement support.
I wish:
the old SmoothBrush, the old FlattenBrush, and ZMapper all from ZBrush 3.1
back into >> ZBrush 4<<
I don´t need all the new fancy stuff like, ZSpheres2 or Coz if the new Brushes doesn´t work fine! What does it matter if I have this cool features, if the new Brush settings/system doesn´t work smooth and doesn´t allow me to have the best control over the result?

i would like is the ability to have a thumbnail preview because i usually organize my meshes by date modified so i know which one is the newest one and since i have so many that thumb nail preview came in handy…
or we could just have the ability to be able to organize light box by date modified instead of going through them all till you get the right name of your mesh…
and i would have to agree poly selection in combination with symmetry mode it would be faster lasoing all the little face and hoping you didn’t hide something you wanted to…
ability to have closed meshes with zspheres with out retopoing it by selecting adjacent chains and click a join button…
and since these zsketch spheres make there own poly groups when turned in to unifed mesh i find it logical to have the ability to be able to select by each chain drawn since it does recognize those in uniefeid skinning and in turn that would also offer more control over each stroke and chain drawn would allow more ease of adjustment in combination with masking and poly group modification…
but really im sure they will add some of these things in future updates once people see how powerful they are for doing hard surface and organic meshes…
hi! just wondering if we can expect any surprises in ZB4. I know it will have goz, lightbox and Spotlight, but can we expecting something else apart from these three features. This link lists these features for ZB4 at the bottom

I suspect that this is it. Which is pretty cool, but…
Any guesses, anyone. I for one hope there is something more, specially some innovation in retopology. I am getting stuck in my own workflow where i sculpt something out of a sphere but then can’t sculpt anymore because the topology doesn’t flow properly. I know i can retopolgise, but it is such a drag. hope there are some surprises. I personally don’t have much use for spotlight or lightbox.
