Z4 Beta Testing By: Kristian Davidson

Being involved in the beta program for ZBrush 4 has truly been an honour.
The amount of techniques and tricks I’ve learned from the staff at pixologic and the amazing artists involved has been phenominal and I cannot wait to start sharing this stuff with the rest of the world.

Heavy Henry, based on the concept appearing on page 5 of Valve Software’s Engineer update comic “Loose Cannon.”
The final design goal was to find a level between the in-game level of character detail, and that of the original concept art:

how did you create the character work?

chemkid: thanks man, glad you like 'em:D

selahpoetic: Yes, I created both the heavy and the frog with zpshere’s and used GoZ to bring them into maya to retopologise the heads and hands. I used the MoveTopo brush to create the facial expressions.

Can you share your zsphere workflow pics for the Hammer Character? Just trying to get an idea of how heavy your zspheres were for the model (especially the head and hands.

That would be cool if you didn’t mind showing a pic of that.
