Z Intensity out of wack

When I start a document from a project such as HeadPlanes_Male_128.ZPR which is Dynameshed, after I smooth it, deform it and re-dynamesh it, brushes such as the ClayBuildup brush, even with full Z Intensity, have little effect, especially in the areas that I most stretched before re-meshing. I also noticed this same problem when importing a mesh into a project that started with a Dynamesh project file. Is there a setting that I need to check, or reset in a Zbrush preset Dynamesh project to get the Z intensity re-set throughout the mesh? What am I missing?

Thanks,
David

What is the differences in polycount between the original mesh and the dynameshed mesh?

Higher density meshes are noticeably more resistant to brush effects, especially smoothing. If the dynameshing process is set to produce a much higher polycount version of the mesh, it would seem much less pliable by comparison.

Hi. Thanks. the polycount is 53,000 total points. The original mesh had a similar count. Dynamesh is set to 128. The even when I re-dynamesh to 64 density at 13k points, the Clay Buildup Brush is barely responsive at 100% intensity.

Try resetting the clay brush with Brush > Reset Current Brush

Also, make certain Lazy Mouse has not been activated for the problem brush. Some lazy mouse settings can drastically reduce brush performance.

Resetting the brush did it! It seamed to reset the alpha, even though I never changed it. Whatever it did, it worked. Thank you!

Theres a bug in R8 that sometimes causes ZIntensity to spike. This is the first time I’ve read of it going the other way.
