japan-samurai-caricatures.jpg Hi everybody, its been quite a while since I last post something in here… :smiley: le me introduce you my new character modeling. Mr Yu Ching Bob… Bob is half scotish and half Asian. So it explain the name the red hair and the green eyes!!. Its my first work with 3ds max wich have done the base mesh. I use zbrus to tweak it a bit and render… Beside Im not completely finish with him on the texture ans micro detail on the face. Im currently doing the body too… Some may recognize the style of the amazing artis Bobby Chiu wich designe the charcter… But as the sketch ive found was only from sideview I had to interpret the front view from what I was thinking how it will look from the front. Here I post the original scketch too. Any crits and comment or suggestion are welcome.

Sorry strict9 but the sketch as I said are from the amazing artis Bobby Chiu. You can find a lot of his work on cgtalk. However one of my friend has draw the front face and the body for me. Maybe Ill post it later… Yeah Im currently working on the body and I thonk it will be cool. thanks for the cheer!:wink:

Your creation is very delightful. :lol:
Scottish style of bagpipe, socks, and tartan check. Japanese style of hair style, clogs, and jar. When these are matched, it is such interesting. :smiley:
Especially, I laughed is a tartan check of old undergarment loincloth in Japan. :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

If you cancel two small problems, this work is perfect. :cool:
One is a hair style.
The sketch by Bobby Chiu is already wrong though this is a hair style “Topknot” of Japan.
It is necessary to connect a top hair and the hair in the back to bundle the hair in the back originally and to bring top “Topknot”.

And another one is a jar.
The shape of the jar is perfect. However, the character of “Sake” is reverse to upper and lower. ??

Please ask me when you are embarrassed about the culture of Japan. :smiley: :smiley: :smiley:

hehe thanks pigma Im glad that you like the mix of two great culture!! So are you japanese ?? as you said Ive try to follow the bobby chiu scketch but Ive should ive done more research in the hair departement!!!:laughing: as for the sake the drag rectangle seems to inverse alpha sometimes hehe but as I dont understand any japanese I would never know about that mistakes . Maybe Ill change it later on! Thanks again dude
