Hoooooo Moni!!
Of course i knew you were a lady!
i just wanted to be charming
but if you prefer that i call you dude i will
Cedric, it’s just some kind of workflow you could share with us (if you like to of course)
Ok Bob as soon as the cgcoach contest will be done, i’ll make a character for fun…with textures, etc…
As you know i won’t texture my character from TTM project for now. I prefer to make nice renders and nice compositions with all the characters and the bus in a grey material first.
But i already have a character in mind that would be great to be done till the end .
Wow Cédric, that “Wall of Masks” looks really impressive! So much character in each one, they spark the imagination, looking like they all have their own story to tell. !
Thank you Etcher! and what about you? are you still strugling with your stuffs?
Guys i need your help!!!
As i was drawing the base. I’ve discovered that the pillow corner looked like Merlin’s hat…And i don’t want that
So, after several sketches about things that you can find close from your bed, i’ve drawn 3 sketches
1/ the pillow corner…which is definitly not good at all but i wanted you to see it.
2/ The bedeside lamp. I like it a lot but i’m not sure that the final sculpt will be printable. There will be too many thin things and i’m afraid that the 3D print will be too fragile.
3/ The clock. I like it a lot too and i think it will be easier to print it. It will be a nice detailed object too…
Which one do you prefer?
Which one do you prefer for the base?
Just my $0.02 but I’d recommend the clock. I prefer it too the other two designes myself, but then I’ve always had a love for those old wind-up bell clocks. shrugs The bending lampshade is nice too though, but I’d ditch the cord it just seems to clutter the overall design in my opinion, whatever that’s worth. ¦D
Awesome design mate, can’t wait to see it all lighted and limbed!
Tore’alos,

I’d Prefer the lamp. Particularly if it lit up, lighting the little night maker from underneath.
I like the lamp, but I would go with the clock. It seems somewhat timeless as well as having a bit of an old feel to it. On top of that book it certainly suggests bedtime too. Plus it looks great and will be fun to model. I’d also suggest putting a title of a children’s book on the spine of the book as an extra detail.
My vote for the clock!
tough choice but I’d say the clock as well Cool idea!
My vote goes to the clock.
tick tock i vote for clock
Yeah, the clock or an interseting lamp or lava lamp
Me likes the clock too! But won’t this be equally hard to print due to the height of the entire piece? He’s got quite a large body, all those fragile legs and hands and then, the fragile feet of the clock. Well, if the print shop says it’s hard, you can always put him on a bedtime storybook, like the one underneath the clock! I’d love to see it on the clock though… . (btw workin’ on my new stuff on a daily basis!)
really would like to see the clock.it would rock i think .
He ho – Great ideas for the base – I vote for the clock, too.
This is awesome. I’d say the clock as well… But you can also get a lot of interesting colors with the lamp. fun stuff!
THANK YOU ALL!!!
i’ve decided to follow your choice! A clock it will be
Sometimes it’s good to take a break. So today i’ve only sculpted the lights. These 2 models, will be duplicate and deformed with transpose master.
I’ve also spent the afternoon working on the sculpted details in front of the clock. I’ve designed the details in Photoshop. The base comes from an old wallpaper that i’ve retaken and redrawn. This is how i take a break… working in 2D
next steps
1/ modeling the clock (do i really need to make the book? what do you think?)
2/ with this model i’ll be able to add the legs with all the contacts and do the final pose. I’ll sculpt and duplicate the arms/legs.
3/ DECIMATION MASTER.
4/ FINAL RENDER!! YEAHHHH
great clock design
i think the book is a must have and i’m sorry but i think the clock could be a little more cartoonish. at the moment it’s a kind of grandmas clock, but if you like it i think you will go for it and it will turn out great
