yet another aquatic critter...

well, here goes zproject nr. 4, i seem to develop a certain affinity towards nasty aquatic critters with fat lips and tentacles, dunno if there’s any hidden freudian meaning behind this, just playing with Z.
just discovered how easy and fun depth-cue and fog are to use in Z (and made extensive use of them immediately).

hee hee

This is great.

This is Imp the three eyed thing. I can see every move you make, so do not try anything, do not make any sudden moves do not even …

sweet eye texturing!
Nice teeth too. A job well done el_pix.

i want to know what texture you used on its eyes. it makes them look iridecent. very cool. i haven’t seen eyes quite like that before.

w/r - i think the effect comes from the material, rather than the texture, i used a slightly modified jelly bean for the eyeballs (a little tweaking with diffuse and specular plus a little negative color bump, to make the surface look rough and to emphasize the veins a little) … and then simply painted toy plastic on the iris’ with tweaked specularity either.
i think the contrast between the materials and some additional work with the glow / intensity / hue shifter brushes did the job.
hope that’s helpful.

Yes the eye effect is very good indeed–this cool guy you’ve created begs to be animated

Very unique and fascinating creature design!

Cool+eew! The pink stuff around the eyes creates a very realistic ‘internals’ look. :+1: He looks like he’s pulling off an incredibly complicated party trick.
