YellBot

Here’s my little Bot WIP. I messed up big time and have to redo it (maybe). I marked the parts together and now it seems that there is no way to get a UV mapping assigned which does not result in color bleeding all over the model… sighhhhh…

Hope you like it

HA, found a way to texture the weird piece. Now it’s Johnny the Noseblowers Household Robot!

THAT’S GREAT LEMONNADO

Lol BILL hahaha…

120dB?! reminds me to my mother in law

Ok lemo,
you gonna share your fix for the new kids on the block?

I used BodyPaint 2.5 to get the UV’s back into check… That unwrapped the model nicely. I could not tame ZB. Only gaps between UV’s or massive bleeding. So BP was the little fix 8-). So if you get stuck sometime, I can fix you up in no time 8-).

I re-imported the model with the ‘weld’ and merge options and saw where my problems came from. There were more than 2000 faces which were at equal location…

Lemo

aha! wow how’d ya get 2000 faces in one spot? am assuming zb & mm’s right? or was this built in your other not quite as favorite app?

I hope your mother-in-law didn’t hear you say that.

Great model Lemo! :+1: Glad you got the UVs fixed.

…reminiscence ?

Pilou

No, the overlying geometry was the result from marking and then generating the geometry with the multimarker tool.

However, it seems to be a very very bad Idea to wait till the end of the construction of a mm tool to assign the UV’s. It’s much better when the components are prepared properly prior to MM joining…

Lemo

This shouldn’t be the case. What UV mapping did you use? In my tests there was no problem texturing a composite polymesh. I created a new texture and assigned GUV tile mapping after conversion. As the individual parts become separate groups they can be textured separately. I didn’t get any color bleeding.

[QUOTE=marcus_civis]I hope your mother-in-law didn’t hear you say that.

This size she can hear
She can’t hear this size.

LOL
