car is almost done… texturing in zbrush is really not that much fun :frowning:

Wow! Wonderful model and render!

Cheers, David

this looks great
whats wrong with texturing in Zbrush?
have you tried dDO? looks like it would be awesome for this type of model

alternately you could try Substance designer http://www.allegorithmic.com/products/substance-designer

That’s a great sculpt!

thank you , i generally texture in mudbox…
i like to be able to shift my layer around and experiment with transfer mode,
i really love sculpting in zbrush . and all the amazing feature around it … just feel that the texturing aspect is really left behind
and to make matter even worse , i cannot use zapplink with cs6 …no idea why :frowning:

need to add the driver

There is an update that fixes zapplink for 4r5

A: An update has been released to fix this issue. Please download the new version from the Download Center. This will be a ZIP file. After downloading, open the ZIP file and then copy the ZAppLink_4.0.zsc into your ZBrush installation’s ZStartup\ZPlugs directory. When asked, you will need to choose the option to replace the existing version of the file. The new version of ZAppLink will then load automatically the next time you launch ZBrush.

Amazing sketchbook! can’t wait to see more!

these guys are great, it really looks like they miniature figures

thank you very much guys

Really like the new updated render. It looks so stylistic yet so real. :+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

Awesome work all around!

no offense man that doesnt look african at all it looks like an alien lol. I guess its a material test but i would tone down the features i.e the nose and lips they are tooo big and look abnormal. other than that I like the skin shader

no offense taken … and interesting critique …since i did actually base it on a photo of a real dude …
as a matter of fact one of my uncle have the same big nose and huge lips if not bigger … and he is not even 100 % african … since he come from the guadeloupe ( french island )

but yea… it’s still very early in the wip process… and i might need to change it a little to conform to the ““standard”” african dude ( even if i do not go for 100% realistic … but stylised )

yes teh skin shader is more of a research than anything else … just wanted to see how much details i would loose trough teh SSS efect … and how i need to overcompensate it in the sculpt

here for what it’s worth … a shot of the torso
