X-Men Prototype...

Hi,
I founded some free time and started modeling something I got in my mind, sort of x-Men character. Base mesh modeled in Max and then a quick jump to Zbrush. My first goal was to catch the main facial expression-the details later.

coool I can’t wait to see him finished!!!

Very cool, though I hated that movie and the way they portrayed that character. Still, It looks great, a very good likeness. :+1:

Looks pretty good, though, the cheeks (right by the corner of the lips) is a bit puffy. Perhaps scale that back and it’ll look a lot more like him. Same with the top of the cheek by where it meets the eye.

Otherwise it’s a very good representation of the character. Keep up the good work.

Hey dori3d,

This is looking great. I like it a lot.
Shume model i mire.

looking good man, can’t wait to see more!

wow man! soo close to the real thing!

i like the work you’ve done so far, how do you feel its going for you?

Wow,
ior-calin, Black Crane, EvilSmiley, KOSOVA, kyphur, explodingseashells, threetails,
thank you guys for all the replyies!

EvilSmiley: U are right man, the cheeks may seems a bit puffy but with purpose. OK, the character in the movie was just the starting point, but I want my character to be more like a warrior-not a senator. I egzagerated the facial details to achive that kind of look.

KOSOVA: Faleminderit.

Hi,
I’ve done some job on refining the normal maps for the face and added a layered texture maps to the hair. Also continuing modeling the hair further!

This is cool, i like it alot!

That’s really nice! I just have a couple sugestions you could try to make his face a bit more asymetrical especially in the forehead and maybe a different technique for the hair like alpha planes or even sculpting it (even a combination of both).
:+1:

One more thing I found this picture http://ajsb.blogs.friendster.com/index/images/beast.jpg
the forehead you modeled is to much inward (the middle part)

Ah, I see. Well, in that case, screw dipolmacy and make him a total badass

Excellent work.

His looking really good. congrats. Good detail too. Will you model the body or is this just a bust? Either way i think his chest and shoulders are a bit small. Try beef him up a bit. Love the hair so far too. Keep up the good work :+1:

Hi, and thank you for replying guys!

Yari Jindou: thanks

Lil’sister: thanks and your sugestions are right. Usually applying assymetrical atributes to the character is something I leave it to the last moment afterbulding all the details neded.

EvilSmiley: Yeah man, screw dipolmacy, He’s a x-Men is a fighter. Thanks!

vlad74: thank you.

brettSinclair: thanks, I dont know, if I find more time I can model the whole body. Yes the shoulders are at that size to make the head more pronounced, but I can beef him up just a little bit.

A small update for now, I’ve adjusted the lights to make the hair cast shadows. x-Men_02.jpg

Nice and it even has a touch of Morrisey the hermit.:+1:

that is indeed some beautiful work.
i really like the slightly exaggerated features, much better than the movie version IMO…
:+1: :+1:

Lookin very nice, the lighting is really good; it makes him look more ‘evil’. The hair is amazing too btw, you are far better at max’s hair then I am  hehe.
