X and Y axis simultaneously?

I have been using ZBrush for quite a while, and something has occurred recently that is driving me nuts.

Specifically, I can’t seem to turn on X and Y symmetry simultaneously.

Case in point, I need to sculpt on an axe head, which is symmetrical along both axis. Yet now I am faced with a choice - make the axe symmetrical front and back but not side to side, or symmetrical side to side and front to back.

So how do I turn symmetry on for both X and Y axis at the same time in ZBrush 4?

Do you mean that the Symmetry buttons aren’t turning on, or that it just isn’t sculpting with x and y symmetry?

I mean X is turning on and working properly. Y symmetry just won’t turn on, won’t sculpt, etcetera.

That’s the first time I have ever seen that. Sounds like you might have to reinstall ZBrush or contact Support.

In older versions, just tappping “Y” would turn on Y symmetry. How do I do it in 4?

As far as I know, there isn’t a hotkey for that, unless you make one. All X does is turn Symmetry on and off. I always use the XYZ symmetry buttons in the Transform palette.
