Wrinkles practice....

Hi all, I would like to know if anyone can help me with wrinkles for the head, and also give me a guide line on how to go about that of the mouth lines, finding it hard to go about. Any help at this time would be appreciated.

Cheers

Hi i was looking for something similar yesterday. I could find a video tutorial showing the process of making wrinkles.

Here’s the link: http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showthread.php?t=32319

thanks mate, I really appreciate, as most people wouldnt even want to help. So you new here as well?

Ah! yes, i 've been browsing this place for several months before but didnt feel like posting before lastweek. And dont worry sometimes it takes a while to lookup info on this forum since there’s so much to learn.

angelmichael77, dont forget that this is the ZBrush ZScripting Help Forum.

You wont get much help about wrinkles and modeling in a scripting sub-forum. I came here by luck i guess

hahahahaha

Thanks anyway mate,

I know, but most times I have asked for assistance on stuff, hardly get anyone’s assistance.

So done anything new yourself? Wud love to see though, and do you have any more links to a learning tool?

Which other programme do you use, as I use 3d max 8.

Lately, i’ve worked a lot trying to model a head from a zsphere to a not too bad extent, but i still lack dexterity, specially since it takes a whole lot of patience to deal with the ZB interface, after seeing what other people do on this board there is no way im going to back down

So i decided to start from scratch in Max and get a decent start, im pretty satisfied with what i came up with, but i still need to UV this head before i start going crazy in ZB.

And anyway if ever you need help or if you wanna have a Zbrush parthener just Pm me. 2 heads are better than one like they say

Cheers

that is a brilliant head, if you ask me, and yeah seeing what other people do, makes you wanna fight hard and do more on your own, Max is a good tool, but was looking for other alternative lately, heard Lightwave is a good package when it comes to modelling, dunno how true that is, but ordered it lately, so would play around it this weekend, being trying to work on some HDRI rendering lately, so trying to learn everything at thesame time.

So working on anything else? I am gonna add you as a buddy, if you do not mind.

Talk laterz.

No, i haven’t done anything else lately Zbrush wise, i did some lowpoly modeling here and there, but nothing new under ZB. this weekend im going to wake up early and start refining my basehead, but like i said im still at the unwrapping process, it takes me a while since i haven’t done that a lot.

Ah yes Lightwave is pretty solid if you want to do realistic humans. I passed quite sometime reading/using Dan ablan tutorials the poly by poly method. I highly recommend people to try it, i used this technique for 2 years now, i’ve done about a dozen of those heads but time goes fast. Takes me about 3 days to do something solid.

Yes you can definitively add me to your PM list, will be a great pleasure to have people around here for help and pointers, dont by shy, im always around. :):+1:

Hello Freewaldo,

I had to take a complete rest off work yesterday, back to my 3d ambition again today. So did you do anything fun this weekend?

Well I just wanted to know something else. Do you know anything about Maxsculpting? its a plugin for 3d max which works exactly like zbrush, saw some stuff folks did with it, and I think it was really cool.

So if you dont know anything about it, I might feel you in, if you want.

Talk later.

Sorry for the late reply im back from work

Maxsculpting, no never heard of anything like it, but yes please fill me in about it, its always good to see new techniques and such. I haven’t done anything serious in ZB during the weekend, i was busy with other stuff, but this week, im going to spend sometime learning how to do those wrinkles like in the video, this look really hard, the guy uses tools i can’t even name yet which makes me nervous

keep in touch.

Welcome back from work,

Its alright, we dont spend all the time doing 3d, got other stuff. Yeah Zsculpting is a 3d max plugin that works exactly like zbrush, but you would still be in 3d max interface without exporting, as it is the case of 3d max and zbrush. Anyways I am making an attachment for you to see this tool.

I have been trying to work with Vray renderer, as my 3d max only has the default scanline and mentalray, so just added vray today, you got any other renderer?

I would try to do something myself in zbrush this week. but I need to come up with really good rendering scheme.

Thanks for the vid Angelmichael will take a look at it in a moment. Its a good thing that you mentioned the Vray renderer as im looking for a way to render in Max with something other than the scanline. I was thinking about Mental ray, but i heard good things about Vray for skin shaders.

Im planing to render this head once im done ZBrushing it, with displacement mapping for the microcavity and pores, i saw good work coming out of this forum with this method.

My only problem is getting a solid UV layout that im satisfied with and roll from there, im pretty new for texturing, i didn’t do enough of that so far, im still learning and really i haven’t got any more render concerning this head as of yet, i really haven’t played with it like i was supposed to the last weekend, but this week i will, and i’ll show you some renders when i get a chance.

Hello Freewaldo,

About the vray renderer it doesnt come with your MAX, its an independent software, I could help you with it if you want it, I am looking for Brazil renderer myself, its as good as Vray, saw some really cool production done with this 2 renderers.

Trying to know some few stuff about vray, so maybe I would gather some infomation for you when you need it as well.

Talk to you later then. vbmenu_register(“postmenu_262482”, true);

Hey, i have 2 questions can Vray render 3 and 5 sided polygons on a mesh ? im asking because in maya mentalray won’t let you render an object if it has 3 and 5 sided polygons, it need a clean quadratic mesh.

Since im modeling something right now i should check to make sure that i can render my geometry safely in Max once i imported it from Zbrush, my geometry has a few 3 sided polys around the ear area here and there, ( its hard to keep the ear area quad sometimes).

And do you know anything about displacement mapping rendered in Vray ? i have no single idea where to start with displacement, i looked at some tutorials but if someone could just explain me a few trick, this would make my day.

Angelmicheal, im still around, see you when your back.
Thanks

Hi Freewaldo,

I have just rested myself, trying to do some vray rendering, as I am a newbie to it as well, i rendered something yesterday with it after i got it, it 'd render though, as for Maya, I bought the software but my system doesnt load it except its in 8bit mode which isnt with the best of graphics.

Anyways, I would try and give you the tutorials I am gonna use for my vray practice, and if anything good comes out of it, I would tell ya, but I reckon you can use it for low poly mesh, dunno anything about maya.

when I am done rendering what I designed in max, I 'd show ya.

Talk to you later bud.

Heya, angelmichael thanks for the reply.

Me too, im working on it tonight as i speak, will come in this thread later this week with some update to what i came to.

If ever you need anything just tell me, i’ll be around.

So what do you think to the MaxSculpt? Do you think it could be close to zbrush? anyways, I did some rendering yesterday with vray it came out so realistic, but the only problem is it takes ages to render, about 20 mins for one frame, grew some white beard during the process. hahaha…kidding, but it comes out very professional and very clean, but you gonna have problem if you rendering it with animation, really BIG problem.

Would love to see your rendering as well.

Chao.

Yes man, if your doing realistic renders i’d be the one willing to see what your up to  and dont forget to give me your tutorial, will like to see it.

Don’t worry im going to work some more on my stuff and will be back here with render as soon as i finish something. Time goes fast, i have thing to do in RL too you know  and i got lots of stuff to deal with work wise. This is a good thing since this will force me to complete my work, im all excited.

Will be back later
take care

Hiya Freewaldo,

Well if you decide to learn everything at once you’d not be able to learn at all, so taking my time, would be having next week off, so I might spend more time in rendering even more on modelling cuz if you dont model you dont render.

Been finding some tutorial on vray online very useful, so I woyuld put them into practice this week. But with just the few i have done, am i really impressed, doesnt look like what I have been rendering before now.

Anyways I would get back at ya later.

Take care
