Wrap mode constraints??

I want to make long textures like a 4K X 1K using the brush wrap mode set at 3 so it’s tiling 4 times. Is there a way to constrain the wrap to only one axis such as horizontal or vertical? The problem is you get the tiling 4 times down a tall texture with the nice side to side wrap.

I know of a more involved way on getting the result I want but it would be nice if I could quickly get the same with the wrap mode.

Not sure if this will help. http://docs.pixologic.com/reference-guide/alpha/modify/

I don’t understand the problem you are having. Brush wrap mode tiles in both directions, equally spaced. If you’re working on a rectangular plane then your alpha should simply repeat more times down the length.

Yes but I need to make a texture like this:

so if you have long plane instead of completely square the wrap only works in one direction. If I start with a square with a 3 wrap on it, the same detail is going to be repeated the length of the texture 4X which I don’t want. So in the case above the same vine would be repeated the length of that texture instead of completely unique on both sides the long ways of the texture.

But I don’t see any wrapping in that image. The design presumably tiles but that’s a different thing.

If you don’t want the extra repeats then mask the part you want kept clear, or store a morph target and then use the Morph brush to erase the extra stuff.
