Hi everyone. I just ordered ZB4 yesterday so I hope to be a part of the community here very soon. I had a workflow question though. My understanding of a normal zbrush workflow is to create a base low poly model in another 3d app and exporting that as an .obj to open in zbrush, sculpt on and then export a displacement map to use in the original app. But what do you do if you start in zbrush and want to render it in another app? Do you have to end up exporting the full res mesh from zbrush or is there a way to export a low res mesh and again use the high res as a displacement map? Thanks.
You can retopo your high res mesh in zbrush after the high poly is done, export the new low poly and your maps, or you can export a decimated mesh into a third party retopo software like topogun, which has some features zbrush (as of r3) is missing. You can import your low poly back into zbrush and reproject the details and create your maps, or you can create maps in max (or whatever).
