Workflow Question - Direction Please

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone can help me out with my current workflow. I am modelling Batman based on a Sean Galloway design. Currently I have gotten to this stage of the sculpt and I am using Dynamesh.

I now want to added in detail to the head region/cape. This is where I am stuck, I don’t want the blow out the Dynamesh point count all over the body just for the head section. Its now at 291,932 I know this isnt that huge. Is this where I ditch Dynamesh? Do I seperate the head? If so how do I keep the flow seamless between the detached head and body?

I know there are a thousand ways to skin a cat, hoping someone can direct me in moving forward.

Thanks

You should already Zremesh it for now. That will give you a better topology (if you dont plan to animate it) then few subdivision will help you achieve the level of details you want.

SInce you have already block you character, you dont need dynamesh really to go further. Only good retopology should help you

Thanks Scote,

I’ll move on from the Dynamesh and get working on the typology. I had a sinking feeling that I had pushed the Dynamesh stage past its point. Thanks again for your help and advice.

Edit Question: If I didnt want to animate and just wanted a 3D print, would you still suggest ditching the dynamesh and just going up a few sub-d?
