Workflow push in the right direction please...

Hey fellas - I am hoping that someone can point me in the right direction in terms of proper workflow for the stuff I want to do.

My sole reason for buying ZB is to modify scan data I bring in. Most of my stuff is high resolution already and usually doesn’t require smoothing. I’m primarily interesting in doing transformations or derivative works mostly on models that are full 3D. I might want to extend an acanthus leaf/stem or add/remove details. I use other software for 2.5D sculpting like flat relief panels, but want to use ZB for stuff like embellishing guitar bodies or other parts where the 3D wraps all the way around, plus be able to add texture etc.

I have no use/interest in animation, posing (other than basic transformations like bending/twisting etc), no need for colorizing/painting or even rendering the stuff to make it look pretty. All of my work is either 3D printed or 3D machined using a CNC - so it’s all about the geometry.

I import my data using the 3D Printing plugin as STL. This is usually no problem to get it into ZB. BUT - after it is in, I have NO CLUE whether the proper way to increase the density of the mesh for sculpting is to use Dynamesh, hit the Divide button to subdivide or use the ZRemesher - The most important thing to me is preserving the original data’s shape & density so edges don’t get washed away or some other unexpected/undesired distortion because I picked the wrong method.

So…to make a short story long - I was hoping that someone could share with me a good workflow and what they’d recommend as the proper way of working with this type of data.

Thank you very much!!!
