Wolverine

This is a personal project. I always wanted to create Wolverine in 3d, so here it is. It is based on the sculpture of “Mark Newman” but have also added few elements. The project was pending from quite some time and i was on and off this project, I finally managed to finish it. I started of with the project in softimage then later decided to switch to 3dsMax as i wanted to do the final rendering in Vray. Hope you everyone likes it.

Excellent work man ! I love it ! Congratz on the final result.

frikk’n awsome man, looks great!
I only have one crit, the claws are too big.
If you measure your claws, the length would end up being close to the bottom of the deltoid when they were contracted. It seems like if “wolverine” had his claws sheathed, he needs to be able to move his wrists and elbows.
maybe just under forearm length would make sense?
They also seem like they would be a little wide given the anatomy within the forearm and hand, as it looks like if his hands were open, the claws would be very close, if not, breech the palms skin.
Very nice sculpt tho!

thats WOW, really good work. I want to share what my first thought was after I said look at all that detail! I looked at the claws and something tells me they are too big, are the claws oversized on purpose because I think its too easy to tell they would never fit into his forearms.
I hardly ever give constructive crit but that jumped out at me. other than that small detail AWESOME !!!

awesome work bro…mast hai…

magalhaes - Thanks
Gedn & idlemind - Thanks a lot for the appreciation. The claws were made so big on purpose. And yes it definitely will no fit in his forearms. As i mentioned it was based on " Mark Newmans ". Here is a link of the original sculpture based on which i decided to make the claws big.
I thought it just made it look more appealing otherwise logically and anatomically it is not possible to fit those claws in his forearms.

basantjoshi - Thanks

Once again thanks for taking the time and commenting on my work.

Love the render man!But I don’t really love his face!He look so kind-hearted !Not enough powerful!

Awesome sculpt dude !!! I’m curious, what did you do for the hair ???
IMO, I think you should re-size the claws, I think they are way too massive to fit into his forearm also its wolverine, but it looks like he just got out of the shower… he’s waaay too clean.
Consider messing him up by adding damage, dirt, ripped clothes and blood splatter.

Wow, great work man! He looks fantastic. As much as I love the original Wolverine design, I love that you went a little more natural and realistic with his hairstyle rather than the crazy horn-like hair he’s always portrayed with.

Great take on the character, grounded in reality(proportion, rendering style, and hairstyle)… but bulky enough to be a superhero. Good Job.

The pose, skin and lighting is simply amazing! the only thing that could use some more work are the claws and shoes as they look too clean.

I really like it BUT you could of done a lot more to the creases in the clothing

I feel the claws are way to big. I love the image, it turned out great. But when I see the claws and the fact that they are way to big for his arms it ruins it for me. I feel if you sized the claws down a little it will bring out the rest of the image. Right now the first thing I focus on are the claws. Great image though, keep it up.

Wow, really nice job on the sculpt and render!

I’m curious, why did you use so many different 3d packages? Seems like a lot of trouble to have to keep hopping around like that.

First of all thanks a lot for all the comments and apprciation. I will try to make a few changes
as most of you suggeste as and wehn i get some time to work of this model again.

But once again thanks a lot for all the comments.

Hey I just want to say your sculpt is amazing. I would like to get professional critique from you on my sculpt of Wolverine. I based mine on the concept from Sideshow Collectibles with a few changes.
