Been a while since I saw this one and, WOW! Great anatomy work. One of the best humanoid models I’ve ever seen. I’ll be studying this one for a while!
I’m new on this site and I’m impressed with the awesome work :o
One question by the way, what do you do with the models after they are finish? do you animate them, sell them or just keep them?, in any case, would you consider so?
hey guys, I’m surprised to see this thread still going, thanks for the interest! I took a major break on this guy but I do still have plans for him, especially after buying a sweet sabertooth sculpture! There is always lots to learn and an opportunity to question the model from everybody’s input and I always go back and read everything. I’m looking forward to share the progress of sabertooth with you guys, until then, laters!
Hioushi: Originally, I don’t have any plans with my models regarding selling them. Just doing it for the love of it and to improve my work. Plus I don’t know how it works with copyrights and all that since wolverine is a marvel character. But I’d be interest to show some final renders to marvel for fun, see what they think hehe
cheers guys
pierre
Glad to see you return, if only for a brief update on your future plans. I’d be pleased to see ANY work of yours. You have a genuinely great talent mate. Checked out your site a little while back. Simply beautiful work.
Yeah, because of copyright stuff you probably would not be able to sell the models…
In this case, and since you can’t use the models for comercial projects, would you consider sharing them?, that model would look awesome in some renders.
You see, I see many talented artist around, and I’m definitively not one, since it’s just a hobby for me I usually “cheat” on my renders, by using Poser, with tons of pre-modeled and textured characters and objects, so definitively a contribution like your character would be outstanding.
Well I’m just saying it in a “just wondering” way jeje
First off, amazing work…but that’s been established.
Now if anyone wants to give away quality work for free so that someone else in the same (very competitive) field can compensate for their ineptitude…let me know too so that I can slap you in the nuts. If you’re like HihoSushi up there, and the audacity of his suggestion escapes you, allow my colleagues and I to reiterate with alternative subject matter.
…You see, I see many talented [illustrators] around, and I’m I’m definitively not one, since… I usually “cheat” on my [drawings], by using [paint by numbers], with tons of [pre-drawn lines and numerically coded colors], so definitively a contribution like your [illustration] would be outstanding.
…You see, I see many talented [architect] around, and I’m I’m definitively not one, since… I usually “cheat” on my [buildings], by using [Legos], with tons of [pre-fabricated windows, doors, and people], so definitively a contribution like your [building] would be outstanding.
Haha! It’s like mad libs, I could go on forever.
I think it’s fair to ask about the sharing of models. As long as Hioushi credits blacknull, if he posts a render with Blacknull’s models in there. Don’t tear into the guy just for asking. In the end it’s up to Blacknull. I don’t know of Blacknulls skills in relation to 3d (except for sculpting of course) but maybe Hioushi can make some renders for him? I’m sure he can do that for himself though. Just let the creator decide. I love Lego.
Ok so i just visited Pierre’s site. Now i know of his skill.
hi guys!
Hioushi: hi there, I will not be sharing my mesh as it is quite personal to me; but I hope to be at the very least of some inspiration to fellow artist, as I have been by the amazing work around here.
You don’t just give work like this away on the trust of someones word alone! No offence, Hioushi
I wish BlackNull would post here more often. His works are fantastic
Look, when I said I’m not as talented I forgot to say I don’t consider myself an artist, not a 3D one at least; I’m a programer (C/C++, php, SQL, Python, Pearl, etc) so 3D art for me is just a hobbie.

I could take that as an offence, but in the contrary, I will take it as a way to explain my position (and the position of many other 3D “fans” like me).
You people are the architects, and I am just a guy who likes to put your buildings models together, take a picture and use it as a walllpaper. Am I to blame for that? I don’t see a reason :(, I don’t make a living out of 3D modeling, and I enjoy what I do with my very limited free time. I also lack not only of the talent, but also lack of the money to buy expensive tools like 3dsmax, maya or zbrush, instead, I have to buy things like Visual.NET ZendStudio; after all, this are my real tools.
Thank’s to BlackNull for his answer (this is the only answer I needed) and Domolab for his support .
To PoserSux, well… I like poser hahaha, chill out man.
I’m aspiring to be a professional digital sculptor. I can’t say if everyone feels the way I do about coming to these forums (I show my friends sometimes, also artists, and they joke about giving up art when they see work like this), but you and other artists willing to share their work as you do are, indeed, inspirational.
Thanks again, from an inspired artist to an inspiring artist.
probably my favourite wolverine sculpt ever. nuff said.
Hey Pierre!!!
you probobly don’t remember me, but when i was in school we actually exchanged a few emails and you gave me a lot of inspiration.
im responding to this old thread to tell the new members about, perhaps the greatest wolverine model that has been or probobly ever will be done. posted over 3 years ago, it still blows my mind everytime i see it.
plus, people need to see this. people need to always know this model exists because it IS one of the best cg works ive seen in my life. it is the single most model that made me want to “go for it” and perhaps others will feel the same way.
also, the thread is interesting because of the battle that ensues over anatomy. pretty interesting to read.
please… people, remember this amazing work. i think more old models should be revisited. i could name a hundred people that should be looked at again.
i think many others will agree with me. it holds up over time. i have yet to see a better version… and bare in mind… this was made in zbrush 2. BAM!!!
I remember this one! Yeah, definately cool, did Pierre ever add textures and so on…?
Wow, very surprised to see this thread come out of the abyss. A good reminder that I havent posted in ages haha. Glad you still remember it mjolnir, it was a great experience for me!
Sorry Ereneflor, never textured it, but I have a tendency to return to old work and finish it
cheers,
pierre
