Wolverine Fanart

Here is the final version of my Wolverine fan art. I had always imagined him with his old school colors and it’s a real pleasure to see him done! I had unfinished business with this piece over a decade ago as he was one of my first piece in ZBrush! I did a few tweaks to the sculpt but mainly kept it true to how it was before. For those of you who may remember him from back in the day, here it is!

Carrying around those love handles really throws off that “so what, bub” attitude. The way you also handled the claws really stood out to me. Most of the time in other sculpts, artists will treat these as a planar surface across the top of his hand leaving the claws very static. You’ve treated them more like it would feel to tape pencils over the top of our own hands, and if we bend a finger a certain amount, those claws are going to move, and I absolutely love this touch. It makes them feel so much more a part of his anatomical structure. You’ve got a wonderful sculpt here. Thank you for sharing with everyone!

Thanks Firebert! I appreciate the message. I envisioned him as a retired Wolverine after a few beers and battle scars

Well wolverine is a powerful superhero. He must be taller and more in perfect body shape. You made him fat. Not like a superhero should be. Anatomy is incorrect. All powerful superheros have a great physique. Please correct it. :innocent:

It’s all good Ash, thanks for sharing your thoughts :slightly_smiling_face: This is just a fun project for me that I may revisit at a later date if I make Sabretooth! I get inspired by some renditions of superheroes that show how time has caught up to them. Cheers!

This is great! Really seems to capture the personality of Wolverine. Nice job!
