Wire Head

would love to take your class.
-dorain zen :rage:

Dear ZBrushers:

Don’t forget about the Gnomon School ZBrush class being held in a week or so - taught by Meats! (I will be attending! I can’t wait!

Steevo

Thanks everyone!

Obiewan - The first batch of Zbrush DVDs will be out sometime in December, I’m not sure when exactly, although

Steevo - That’s right, I have the Zbrush one week course coming up soon
nice to hear that you will be in the class - should be good!

I’ve included a few of the models that make up these heads that I am mixing and matching to produce different images:

Base head (geometry that the rest where produced from)

Different wire head versions:

wow Meats, these last ones put me in the way back machine!!! They remind of doing sculptures with wire, wire hangers and some fun stuff called Liquid Solder. It makes me wanna run out and try to find some now!!

but it’s cold out there so I think I’ll let zb be my liquid solder.

OMG!

This is verry nice

Thank you for shareing with us. I am inspired

I have a question for you meats. How much of the masks are alpha? What I mean is what are the percentages of custom alpha to hand painting mask. I am assuming it is a little of both?
Other questions if you don’t mind.

To PM or not ti PM?..hehe.
Percent of furthing modeling as mesh and/or to pixol? I am assuming Pixol due to speed.

Oh yeah, one more. Are you using Hi res alphas/textures?

Thanks you for sharing this again. It comes at a perfect time when I have a project coming ahead on the geometry/abstract representation of the human form and condition. I hadn’t the faintest idea were to start. Now a path is clear (too bad I have little time to play
mybe tonight). Thanks again.:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

Different wire head versions

the number 3 is astonished :grimacing:
Remember a Dali painting
Pilou

Yeah, I like the inventiveness in your images. Opens up possibilities

Very interesting Meats! Thank you for sharing.

MTB, I bet some of these new ones were done with PM.

Yeah, been playing for a little tonight.

Learned some things. hanks again Meats.

Mahlikus -

Wow! You’re putting me to shame! Great work.
As far as the masks question, yeah, it’s definately a mix of both and then spend a few minutes on each adding detail to them once they are geometry. I never can spend too long on them because It’s so easy to make new versions that I end up creating them and going on
I just need to get serious with it and focus on an actual image. I covert to Pixols as soon as possible because I only have a gig on my laptop where I create most of theses

Here’s a new one using the same parts:

Wire_head_4.jpg

Well, thank you
though I have to disagree about putting you to shame.
Hehe.
This is a wicked fun method though. One thing I am trying to do is figure out how the frig you make those tasty little wispy ones.

What about doc size too? are all these @ half down (AA)?

Well, still some playing to do though
must find the righteous path to tasty wispiness. :D;)

Cheers.

Haha, I saw this on the top bar and thought 'That looks like a Meats work . . ’ and lo and behold it is!

Thanks for the tut link, I’m def going to look into.

M the Black, nice image!

love seeing some new stuff and where your adventures in zbrush wire style seem to be taking you
those latest two heads
are like a combination of welding and molten metal but with the fine detail density of mother nature stuff

mahlikus the black’s reminds me of molten wax

combining the rough with smooth elements works really well visual
also might be worth trying to add molten drip like effects
rather like candle drips
might be something to experiment with more direction downwards on the smooth bits.
dunno anyway love seeing your stuff.
:+1:

dude Meats, u r insane! I’m glad i have u as a teacher, i’ve been a fan of your stuff since i first saw “The Future of Art.” Looking at your work is like being in an acid trip, sober.:grimacing: I like the hallucinating feel of your renders. Who needs mushrooms when you can just trip out on this wireframe style that you have perfected.

Cool Meats:+1:

Can you do your technique with non-zsphere models? and if so will it be included on your DVDs when released?

This is excelent !!!

:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:
very innovative and artistic method! The results are really great and interesting. Im looking forward to the “serious” part

thanks for sharing this technique!

Following those steps I got this one:
