WIP of a Slope Head.

Hey everyone,

I just started working with zbrush 3 days ago. I’m trying to create a photorealistic looking head using brush texturing, displacement, and specular painting. The base model was made in maya. This is what I came up with:

Questions and constructive criticism is very welcome. Also if anyone knows of a great tutorial on how to create photorealistic hair in Maya that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
-Jesse

I love the model, not too sure about the lips though. Also, please tell me you didnt model this on yourself

Hello JesseGraffam!
This is a good start, but if your plan is to create a photorealistic head I would higly recomend you to take a look at some reference images of the human head.
Take a quick search in google images. Study the form of the head.
Where is the position of the ear in relation to the eyes etc. Ask yourself some question like this. And study the images.

Good luck!

Lead Balloon - no but it is modeled after my father. you insensitive… ha just kidding. I modeled it from a drawing i did bored on a train.

Lasse Eriksen Bjørseth - I guess photorealistic was the wrong word. I understand the head is highly deformed. I was kind of modeling a head of someone that is a severe birth defect, but somehow is able to overcome that enough to be able to survive about 40 years with this ailment.

thanks for the comments keep 'em coming.

I love the characters nose, it looks great!

So I’ve been working a lot on the sculpt lately. I’m trying to refine the surface before I refine the texture. Here’s what I’ve done.

Ok I’m done with this head for now. I changed the lighting and material a bit. I added eyes too. Scary…

Well good start whatsoever…After only 3 days of using ZBrush you’r learning fast…I mean you got it even textured (hair, lips…)…

Just keep working!

Wow, very nice head my friend. The textures have excellent depth and the colors are very rich. Great texturing job. How do you paint materials on your models in zbrush?

jesse! from?
