Improved … I think the eyes may be too wide … what do you think?

Any tips on what I’m doing wrong? Anybody

Try using dom standard (keyboard b-d-s) around the edges of the nose and the hairline to bring in some more definition, actually before that though, try using zremesher because the dynamesh is much higher resolution than required for the current detail level. After that, find some reference photos and try using the move tools to adjust proportions from the front and side. The model I was working on (which you commented on) had some glaring problems from the front which I didn’t notice until leaving it and coming back again after a day. Stuff like the jawline being too high, the cheeks being far too gaunt etc. using a very large move brush, move that sort of stuff. I’d suggest smoothing out the hair detail so it’s more scull like, in fact, just forget about the hair, you can always do that last, even do that as a separate subtool so when you’re sculpting the head, it won’t influence the shape of it. It definitely currently bulges too much towards the hairline (but like I originally said, you could also try fixing that with dom standard)

Also, when you’re sculpting, hit p and sculpt with perspective on, I’m not 100% sure, but I think you might be currently sculpting with isometric view on? It’ll never look quite right like that.

When I’m modelling, I’ll work on it in symmetry for ages, saving rivisions as I go along (obj1.ztl, obj2.ztl, obj3.ztl etc) and then I will branch off for a while for a quick asymmetry test, I’ll do a quick sculpt with symmetry off and save accordingly (obj3nosym.ztl, obj3nosym1.ztl etc) just to get a better ideal as to what the sculpt feels like asymetrically (and /everyone/ is asymmetrical, it’ll actually look weirder if your model is perfectly symmetrical), then I’ll be better informed as to what needs to be changed in the symmetry mode and I’ll switch back to that again.

Just some ideas, I know it’s not like I’m a pro, but any questions, just pm me and I’ll try to help

I appreciate the critique.

Took out the hair and worked on basic forms looking at anatomy source pics … it seems to be more natural. Going to try to detail it soon.

Aged him a little, gave him a shaggy hairdo and made him unshaven. Still working on the skin but I think it’s progress.
