If you try to start up Z 3.5R3 and get a popup that says WINTAB SERVICES not available and it hangs. Try this to correct the problem:
- CTRL+ALT+DELETE - and manually close Z.
- Unplug your tablet completely from the USB port.
- Wait a minute or so and then replug the tablet and wait for Win7 to recognize the device and state that it has installed the drivers/software. This message will fade in on the bottom right hand corner of your screen.
- Restart Zbrush.
I had this problem all out of the blue. Z has been fine for over a week now running on my system, and then this error happened. Rebooting your system will not correct it. I also already had the newest driver for the tablet installed since last week, so it wasn’t an out-of-date driver. [Pixo-Help suggested that in their forum but it doesn’t work] Also reinstalling Z doesn’t help. Apparently the problem must be related to Win7 and it’s driver/software communication with the tablets.
Anyway, this worked and was pretty simple so I thought I’d post it in case anybody else has trouble.
