Man, this model is awesome! I downloaded this image long ago, I think from another forum even. I really like this design especially the lips, you have some great textures in there and the face is so dour and exciting!
As for the texture I think it works great! You could possibly use some tempature variations on the back, maybe some more cools. The sides of the neck are working great as it has a nice sick translucent amphibous look to it.
Very impressed and inspired!
