Windows Wacom and Zbrush wackiness

Ok probably not so much Zbrush wackiness, but I mainly use my wacom for zbrush and thats where i’m seeing these problems. I’m having two problems that are driving me nuts! There’s some smart heads here on ZBC so maybe you guys can help me out.

See image below. I basically want to disable these two things from happening. Thanks in advance!

This is a Windows Vista annoyance. Go into the Control Panel - use the Classic View - and then double-click on the Pen and Input Devices icon. In the dialog, select the Pointer Options tab and then uncheck all the feedback boxes. Click Apply and then all should be well.

Thanks Marcus, I got the right click ring to go away but, I cant find a option to turn off the Ctrl,Alt,Shift display pop ups. I’m using windows 7 and believe it or not microsoft managed to hide stuff even better than they did in vista! (Fyi they removed the classic view from the control panel aswell. )

Urgh, well looks like I shan’t be getting Windows 7! I hope you find a solution to the pop-up problem.

yeah, i bet that’s a very annoying problem in win 7.

I’ve a solution.

go to windows services and disable Tablet PC Input Service not TabletServiceWacom.

Restart and your problem with go away.

seems like doing just that wont be enough. It came back after i installed and run 3dsmax on my machine.

  1. Open Local Group Policy Editor. It is quite hidden - search for it in Windows Start menu or in Control panel - use the search box as I have not found the shortcut for it. Alternatively you can run gpedit from command line (not from Run in Start menu).

  2. Navigate to User Configuration - Administrative Templates - Windows Components - Tablet PC - Cursor.

  3. Enable the Turn off pen feedback setting.

odd, i have a wacom and windows 7 and never had that issue.

I have vista, perhaps its the same in 7.

Start->control panels->“Turn Windows features on or off”

Scroll down to “Tablet PC Optional Components”

Uncheck that bastard!

Wait 2-3 mins, restart when asked.

I have had that problem and its almost impossible to find out (internet
forums) where to turn that off because most people are trying to use
windows tablet pc. :angry:small_orange_diamond:angry:small_orange_diamond:angry:

I’ve got a 21UX, and have trouble trying to get mine to right click in
windows, any other app will let me. Is it the same on your Wacom?
Do you know how to enable right clicking for your tablet in windows?

check your setting on pen and touch setting in the control panel.
make sure you check *use the pen button as a right-click equivalent.

that should let you right click with wacom pen on a cintiq or any wacom.

Woo hoo! thanks very much for that

Sadamhu now has right click in windows!

If I could kill windows conflicting with the drivers of my cintiq
I would be soo happy. I wish Wacom would release some
drivers that completely take over pen input devices (like it
says it does).
