i hate to start another thread about this but i cannot seem to find the one i posted in previously, even checked my subscriptions.
xp 64 bit
when i use zbrush and go to open a tool it pulls open the explorer window, i cannot get it to remember my settings, such as view by date modified, so every time i load even in the same session i have to tell explorer to details/view by date modified.
i think its related to zbrush using the 32bit explorer? while i’m on a 64bit machine.
windows remembers all my other folder settings outside of the zbrush explorer.
i’m pretty sure someone posted a workaround or something but as i said i cannot find it.
Not really a work around…but here, this will help.

if you mean the filebox utility i’d rather not have to use something like that.
i swear there was a fix for this…
I would also like to know how this can be done…without using filebox.
While we’re on the topic is there a way to script or edit the default dir zbrush looks in when loading your ztl, alphas, textures and objs.
For example changing the settings to point to a project dir on a network?
So that zbrush will remember this every time.
Does zbrush have an env file of sorts like maya?
cheers
i think for now this is all we can do about the linking:
"In the Preferences, turn “Use ZFolders” on. Then in each of the ZFolders (such as ZTools) create a shortcut to the folder that you want to use.
What will happen is that when you click one of the save or load buttons, ZBrush will browse to the appropriate ZFolder for that particular resource type. From there, just double-click on the Windows shortcut that you placed within the folder to go to the place that you actually want to use."
I suppose another option would be to create junctions but i don’t know much about them.
i just want explorer to remember my folder settings. ugh.
