Windows 7, UAC and failing activation code

Im currently getting Pixologics support to look into this for me at the moment but frustratingly they seem to have an average 3 day turnaround on getting a reply back to me, and each time the tech advice doesnt resolve the problem (they also couldnt locate my serial number/previous registration at one point either!)

Thought I would see if anyone else has had any advice for the following problem.

Ive just upgraded to a new machine running Windows 7 64.
Ive installed ZB 3.5r3 on it but when I went through the activation process online I entered the appropriate details but instead of being given a code I was forwarded to a page that had the following

This page is only for users who would like to activate the Windows version of ZBrush 3.5.

In addition, if I launch Zbrush I get a warning pop up

Do you want the following program from an unknown publisher make changes to this computer

This is Windows 7 over zealous UAC!! This cant be normal can it?

I have been advised by ZB support to uninstall and try a re-install only to be left with the same problem.

Its nearly 2 weeks since I first attempted to get ZB up and running on my new machine and I have a feeling that support are scratching their heads. I havent had any issues with other installs.

The frustration is beginning to build up big time and I cant get back to work until this gets sorted…

Regarding that warning, it is due entirely to UAC. It doesn’t happen for all users, but for those who do get it (including me), it will happen every time you launch ZBrush.

Regarding the activation error, please right-click on the ZBrush shortcut on your dekstop and choose Properties. Go to the Compatibility tab. The ONLY thing that should be active on that tab is the one at the bottom to run as administrator. If anything else is checked, such as running in compatibility mode for an earlier version of Windows, you will get that error. This is the single most common cause of that issue.

Thanks Aurick…that seems to have sorted the activation issue…
I did see that solution on the posts before but I hadnt had any luck for some reason…

Guess we will have to live with the UAC warning…very annoying
Maybe ZB 4 will address it (hint!)

Glad I could help.

This was a sweet fix…i spent the whole weekend pulling my ****ing hair out… GOD BLESS AURICK!!!
