Will the zbrush Render system no longer be worked on it light of Keyshot?

I was wondering with all the focus of the Keyshot bridge, Will Pixologic no longer Develop the Zbrush rendering system? All the BPR stuff I have struggled to learn be for not? Granted the renders from Keyshot are incredible. I want it very much, but I’m on a serious budget. I am a hobbyist, I am trying to save for a Wacom Cintiq (upgrading form a intuos 4 medium). that is a about 1,000 USD. Keyshot will definitely set that purchase back.

Furthermore… Is Keyshot only for still renders? Can it do animation? If I purchase a render system it has to be more than a one trick pony.

I do not mean to whine and moan. I just need to know if I need to alter my savings goal.

I must say thank you for allowing all of us to watch in the Summit. I gain much from the Zbrush Demo. I am super excited about the new features to come. Easy Box Modeling! I am salivating at the thought as to what else Santa Pixo is bringing us in 4R7 !!

Keyshot can do animation, but you need the next version up from basic for that. The base $1000 version doesn’t do animation, and that is the version coming with ZBrush 4r7.

well i hope they continue to develop every aspect. however since the sticker price is $349, it would seem they wouldn’t want to depreciate that purchase so soon after release. so i wouldn’t expect much in the way of improved rendering with ZB5.
but that’s just my speculation.

I almost forgot to mention (due it the fact I’ve been drinking tonight) that the Keyshot animation function isn’t a full fledged animation suite. It does a good job of presentations, just don’t expect miracles or Hollywood movies from it.

I have been looking at tutorials and so on… It reminds me of the linear animation of Vue. meh… This is not the render system for me sadly… Perhaps Messiah… 350$ for a linear animation system is not what I’m looking for. Those stills look great… but I need bang for the buck. My master accountant (the Wife lol) would shoot me if I had to buy software that is good for only one type of render.
