I get these little pinches with my mesh when I subdivide. Is there a way to smooth them out? The smooth brush seems to do nothing 

use the flattenbrush or in 3.5 use the clayfinish brush
Also notice that those spots are exactly where poles are, which are vertices where more than four edges meet. If you’re making base meshes in another 3d program to ZBrush, try to keep these poles to a minimum, and try to use all quads, with as few triangles as possible, but no ngons.
Neox: cheers, your’re right, the flatten brush works wonders, just have to be carefull not to use the smooth tool.
jamespthornton: Everything is quads, though I see what you mean. Maybe I can re-arrange the edgeloops.
